Poor Unfortunate Souls ~ A Spooktacular Trip Back to the World! UPDATE Reality Check

I just got back so I missed a few updates! Love the PP pics. I've never taken full advantage of them before, and I decided to do it this time around.

The chocolate moose is my favorite thing from Le Cellier. I love the filet too. Just makes me hungry right now thinking about it.....

Great update, Stefy. You got some beautiful photos of Epcot; it is such a photogenic park. Your food at Nine Dragons looks really good (we've never even considered eating there).

Its funny to see everyone running towards Soarin' first thing, to a total newbie you would think there was a Black Friday Sale going on.

This is so true! Although I have to say we've been very lucky with Soarin'. We've ridden it three our four times each trip we've gone on...must be the time of year we go.

More great photos! Thanks for the updates! Makes me VERY homesick! :rotfl2:

Guess you have not done the "Behind the seeds" tour in Epcot - but it is highly recommended. Gives you a look behind the scenes at the greenhouses. We did it for the first time last summer and it was a real fun little tour!

BTW - love the Strawberry shortcake - yummo! One of my favourites and your ice-cream looks wonderful too!
Not so sure about Dave's float though - do not temper with my Coke, please! :lmao:

Thanks :) I get the same way reading others TR's but you are going back in less than 100 days so not too far off :)

That Strawberry Shortcake was delish :cloud9: The ice cream was good, but would have been better if I could have gotten to the chocolate flavour too!

Yes his float does look a bit questionable doesn't it

It's taken me awhile to catch up...but loving your TR!:)

Thanks and :welcome: Stay tuned for the rest of the days happenings :)

Welcome back, hope you had a great time at the World :) Must link me if you start a TR :)

PP is the best and I cannot recommend it enough.

LC was a good dinner and one we will be having again next year :teeth:

Thanks :) Epcot has so many beautiful photo opportunities and thats even before you get into WS.

You should try Nine Dragons one day, the food and service is really good and the decor of the restaurant is beautiful as well.

When Sophia went this year I think she said that Soarin' was like a 10min wait, so maybe early September is quieter time than late (what with F&W and all).

the photopass pictures are amaaazing!!! 500+ thats a lot! thought the black and white ones were very cool...and like you said they all have both of you!

on my to-do list for our next trip!

your le cellier photo's brought back fond memories of that steak!!! and the pretzel breadsticks were prob some of the nicest bread I've ever had!

we had to wait a similar time even with the fastpass for soarin too...weird! although getting front row made up for it as was both our first times!

have you got any snow at the minute stefy?

LC was an all round winner, defo worth its hype.

We haven't got snow yet, but its on its way. Either tonight or tomorrow, its really cold though -3 :scared1: Brrr!

So we left off with where were we going what were we doing. We headed on over to Innoventions West and East.

WDWTrip2010773.jpg

We made some velcro froggies, here we have Princess S and Princely D (crappy names I know, but oh well). Was fun making these little guys, think we bought them home, they're around here somewhere.

WDWTrip2010774.jpg

Next up we wandered over to this spot.

WDWTrip2010775.jpg

Dave really wants to do the Segway tour but I'm not so keen on these machines, so I thought this was perfect for him to have a little taster of what a segway was like.

WDWTrip2010784.jpg

I'll let him tell you about his experience, but he had fun on one and I can see a Segway tour at some point on our Disney trips.

WDWTrip2010787.jpg

Next up we tried our hand at the Great Piggy Bank Adventure.

It was alot of fun and our little piggy bank was so cute and we made our goal for our next vacation too.

After West we hit East and made our own rollercoaster on the Sum of All Thrills. Lots of fun creating and designer your own coaster, ours was called Roaring Eagle and had lots of loops!

At this point I was starting to feel my migraine, but we tried one last ride which was a must do. Spaceship Earth. I love this ride, is so cool riding through time listening to Dame Judy narrating and the last part going through the stars was so pretty. I can see why alot of Disers love this ride now.

After SE we headed back to the resort for a mini break before dinner. I love the walkway from TTC to the Poly, so quick and convenient!

Gotta show your appreciation for all things Poly
WDWTrip2010808.jpg

Once rested and migraine sort of gone we made our way back to Epcot for dinner.

Love the colour of the sky here.

Cntd...

Dinner was at Coral Reef, we were both looking forward to this. We checked in and waited for our buzzer to buzz. We sat outside as the waiting area always has the seats taken.

We found a spot near where the strollers were parked and next to this South American couple. There were these two kids running around all over the place, turned out it was this couples kids. We went to look at the menu as they were getting too close to comfort (they were jumping and bouncing all over the place!). I sat back down and Dave stood in front of me and we were chatting away when all of a sudden one of the little "tykes" smacked Dave on the back of the leg. To say I was gobsmacked was an understatement, the boy just laughed and ran away, I turned to look at the parents and they had the gall to actually laugh and not apologise on behalf of their brat of a kid. After giving them the evil eye, I spotted the little brat coming back for seconds and as was about to smack Dave again I shouted out "NO!!!" and pointed at him, it was a good thing he didn't do it as Dave wouldn't have taken kindly at being hit a second time. Best part was the little thing looked scared after I shouted at him  Guess he doesn't have much discipline in his sheltered little life. Thankfully their buzzer went off not long after that.

Ours went off not long after and I prayed that we didn't get a seat anywhere near them as a fuss would have been made and tables changed if it did. But thankfully we were seated on the upper floor and the meal for the rest of the night was drama free.

For starters we got the Appetiser for Two consisting of Crab cakes, land and sea shrimp and tenderloin and the lobster bisque. The bisque and beef were yumma, but glad it was only a small cup size of soup as it was a bit too rich tasting for me to have a whole bowlful.

WDWTrip2010819.jpg

For our Mains, Dave went for the seared chicken breast (I think), but the descrip looks different from whats in the picture :confused3

WDWTrip2010822.jpg

I went for the Roasted Pork Tenderloin with mash on the side as I wasn't too sure about the polenta and wanted backup in case I didn't like it.

WDWTrip2010821.jpg

Mine was quite scrumptious, the pork was cooked quite well and tasted like roast pork. The polenta was so so, but I was glad I had gotten the mash on the side.

I think Dave enjoyed his, sauce went very nicely with the rice and the chicken was nice and tender.

For dessert Dave went for the Baileys and Jack Daniels Mousse and I went for the The Chocolate Wave.

WDWTrip2010824.jpg

WDWTrip2010823.jpg

WDWTrip2010825.jpg

Dave polished off his dessert before I had taken two bites of mine, so it must have been good

Mine was delish, the sauce and the heat of the cake was to die for.

All in all a good meal, but I doubt we will go back again as it didn't really pull us in this time.

I was starting to feel drained from the heat earlier on in the day and was very much ready to go home and crawl into bed. So off we went, walking through FW in the evening was quite nice as it was totally empty and nice and peaceful. We even managed to find the sidewalk lights that I have heard so much about. Pretty aren't they.

WDWTrip2010826.jpg

WDWTrip2010827.jpg

We got to the monorail ramp and saw that there was a line starting midway up (I think Illuminations had finished and this was the crowds leaving for the night), so we thought screw that and caught a cab back to the resort and fell into bed with our little family of accumulating plushes.

Awesome new updates, Stefy!
Sorry about the migrene - I do suffer from them too and if I don't "catch" them before they get too painful I need to spend a lot of time resting! :sad2:

Can you imagine we have never tried any of the adventures in either Innoventions East or West! :scared1:
After looking at your photos I guess this is something to put on our "to try" list either for February or next summer!

Now, that kid and his parents really shocked me! Yes, sometimes kids do strange things, but for the parents to just laugh it really horrible. Thank god, you weren't seated anywhere near them! ;)

Yummy photos of Coral Reef food. We have not been in a long time, as the menu doesn't exactly draw me in, but we might go back in the summer. :goodvibes

Good idea taking a cab! If I hate one thing about Disney transport, it is the long lines whenever a park closes - that's when I really LOVE having a car around! :cloud9:

Love your FW morning! Epcot is such a great park. So much variation thought your pictures reminded me I do not like Soarin rope drop. Love all of the Living with the Land pics! Can't believe that was your first time. We always enjoy that ride. My DS8 wants to take the garden tour they mention during the ride. I think it might bore him a bit at this age, but maybe in a few years. I also love that Strawberry Shortcake! Yummy! Sorry Coral Reef wasn't great for you this time. We really enjoyed it in June and are going again in January. I hope it doesn't disappoint us.

I LOVE your shirt Stefy!!! :goodvibes My youngest sister and I say that quote often! (she's actually studying abroad in Oxford this whole year! She has absolutely fallen in love with England and I'll be surprised if we ever get her home after the year is through!) :rotfl:

I was waiting for him to hit me again so I could knock the little shot over!

Didn't enjoy my meal at nine dragons this year, I should have gotten the same as Stef.
Coral reef was ok, wasn't bad but didn't wow me either. Though I could eat 4-5 of those baileys deserts :D

Really want to do the Segway tour around world showcase even more now, I wanted to run the woman out the way so I could go fast lol. She held the rung the entire time and that's all I could think of whilst she was talking. Evil?

The sum of all thrills was cool but I want to do it again so I can make it faster with more loops. Overall though, Innoventions is actually pretty cool and I'm glad we broke up our epcot days the way we did :)

Great update, Stefy. We've not been to Innoventions since our sons were younger (12 years maybe???). I love Spaceship Earth (but, I have to admit, I prefer the original narrated by Walter Cronkite).

This seemed to be the year of "misbehaved" kids with "parents who didn't give a hoot". We had our scenario waiting to get into the Animation Studios for our show and then drawing.

I'm sorry that Coral Reef didn't wow you like last time. But those desserts sure look good.

Hee hee, love the accumulating plushies. Good choices so far!

Spaceship Earth is one of my favorite rides, and has been ever since we first starting going when I was four!

I started a trip report, its in my sig below. Hopefully I should have day one up soon. :goodvibes

Thank you :)

The migraines on this trip weren't very pleasant, think it was from a mixture of things like excitement and the heat (I get stress headaches too). But good old Nurofen was there to save the day :)

You must try Innoventions, this was our first time and we had a blast. I think once you visit them you kinda get Future World and see it not as the part of the the park that holds Test Track and Soarin'

That kid was just horrible and I don't understand why the parents didn't even scold him for doing that. All I can say is one day he'll hit the wrong person and be sorry for it.

Cabs are a great idea for when the transportation is out/busy but can get costly. Need to get on to learning to drive so we can hire too.

Thanks :) It was a pretty good day that day and Dave says that doing Epcot the way we did was a great idea.

We are hoping to do the KTTK tour next year as Dave keeps raving on about it, but the Seeds one I have heard is pretty good :)

I am sure you will have a great meal at Coral Reef, I think our experience was a mixture of that horrible child and tiredness.

I LOVE your shirt Stefy!!! :goodvibes My youngest sister and I say that quote often! (she's actually studying abroad in Oxford this whole year! She has absolutely fallen in love with England and I'll be surprised if we ever get her home after the year is through!) :rotfl:

Thank you :) Well she'll be loving it right now as we just got hit with snow :)

Thank you :) I think Innoventions and most of FW is overlooked except for the rides. One thing we didn't do was Captain EO, which we will next year as I am quite interested to see what its all about, although saying that I think Paris has one too :teeth:

Misbehaving kids, people who don't look anywhere else apart from straightahead, it really was the year for rude people I tell you :sad2:

You should have seen our bed at the end of the trip, plushes from Dave's side all the way over to my side

SE was lots of fun and I can't wait to go back on it again next year :teeth:

Thanks for the heads up, will hop on over :thumbsup2

The KTTK tour is awesome! Tom and I have done it twice! Loved it both times!
We did the Behind the Seeds tour in September and it was real informative and fun. Very enjoyable little tour! One of the best moments were when we all went out "onstage" into the green houses and people were staring at us with their mouths WIDE open! :rotfl2:

Don't worry if you missed Captain EO! We walked onto it, as it was about to start, and I was bored to death! This is SO 80s - and outdated. Sorry MJ fans - I love his songs but this is too far off!
You can go see it in Paris, but I would NOT spend a long time in line for it! Skip it, you won't miss much!

Two things I don't want to do in Paris. 1)Tower Of Terror. 2) Captain EO.

If we go on the cruise for 3 nights, we only have 7 nights in WDW and part of that is really bugging me because I like to have multiple visits to the parks and that's usually for 14 nights. So cramming the parks into 7 nights + any tours if possible is going to be tough for us I think. Hopefully we can win the lottery before then and have a longer honeymoon :rotfl:

ToT is different in Paris, it's like the one in Disneyland. Always the same ride, VERY slow loading - we only do it when we can get hold of a FP or it is a walk-on.
We did nothing than ride it when it pre-opened for AP holders before they officially opened it. Now then it was fun, we would just walk all the way around and ride again with a gazillion people watching, who wanted to ride, but could not, as it was passholders only.
We were not all that bad, as every passholder was allowed a guest, so we took a lot of people on the ride over the two days we were there.

Captain EO is really not worth the wait! :sad2:

I do understand what you mean about not having enough time during a 10 day visit. We go for a week in February and it feels like the moment we arrive we have to turn around and leave again!
I can't remember what resort you want to stay at, but have you considered doing the villa resort offer Disney.co.uk has? They are 42% off the rack rate AND free dining. Maybe if you go that route you might be able to add a few days?

I'm turning into a big wimp so TOT scares the beejesus out of me, Stef can confirm this during our DHS day >_>

We are staying at the Poly, we love it and I don't want to stay anywhere else again. Poly rocks!
