hahaha only kidding! I am by NO MEANS rich! Especially since becoming a DVC owner haha

Although my husband has been giving me crap about being "bummed" that we are staying AKL Kidani instead of our yearly VWL (waaaaah) I LOVE VWL.

Honestly...AKL before we had DVC was my first love.

The issue... the other 4 people in my family stay at the Fort..so normally, being at the VWL maks life a WHOLE lot easier. AKL....well its obviously a poke from the Fort.

I am renting a car for my parents for 2 weeks so they can get to us quick, we like to leave for the parks together on Disney transport
(I know, lol freaks haha)

I am really trying to get excited about Kidani but is seems so strange to me. I know nothing about it...and is the only way to get to the pool through the lobby and walking outside of the hotel?

I do know that it gets the first bus to parks...which is a plus. And we have our 15 month old in tow, that kiddie splash area looks awesome!

I just wish I were more excited about it....I just keep thinking about what a pain it will be to get to the food court...

Anyhoo...any other VWL lovers stay at Kidani? Will I survive or be forever damaged hahaha (kidding)

You don't have to go through the lobby, but it is probably the quickest way to get there. Yes, the pool is across the driveway from the main entrance/lobby area. It's a very nice pool and worth the little walk.

I just wish I were more excited about it....I just keep thinking about what a pain it will be to get to the food court...

If you get on the wing of Kidana that stretches towards Jambo, it's very easy and short walk to the counter service place at Jambo. lf you are on the other wing, not very convenient.

As you can see from my signature, we are very much VWL devotees. We have stayed at AKV twice now and find it to be a great resort with lots to enjoy.

What type of room do you have? If a Savanna View, you and your little one will really enjoy the animal viewing from the balcony. If not that kind of room, there are very nice animal viewing areas especially near the lobby.

If you love the theming and decor of AKL, as you indicated, then AKV will be all that plus the added benefits of DVC accommodations.

Don't worry you will love AKV

Your young child will love the splash area too! Its not that big of a drive from the Fort.
