but not for long..though trips to donate plasma are going to be a must this last year to make it to our awesome honeymoon after graduation...

I am wondering..how much do you think we should budget for the two of us for food for a day? We dont eat all three meals a day...usually a late Bkfst/early lunch/or even just some icecream/snack, and then DINNER!! (this is a must for big guy..total meat and potatos kind of man). We are looking for some nice dinners, but we dont want a rigid PS schedule the whole time we are there, so snacks and burgers are great too. What do you think? Thanks!

most people say $50 per adult per day is adequate. some days will be more, some less. also if you are big eaters you should aim for the buffet places. more food for the money. although everyone says the portions are huge. and those that i saw were huge. (keeping in mind, my last trip i let a 5yr old boy decide EVERYTHING i didnt see much). also if you make a priorty seating for a late lunch you will usually get dinner food for the price of lunch food!!
you may want to check out the menus on the mother site here ( www.wdwinfo.com ) and at www.wdwig.com. both have all or most of the restaurants, including snack stands.

happy planning!!!

You can do items like bagels and creme cheese or cereal and milk,in your room before you leave in the morning. Or carry, protein, cereal, grainola Bars.

For lunch someone here mentioned that at Pecos Bills because they have a serve yourself toppings bar, if you order a Double burger then you both can have an open faced hambuger, and make a salad with the fixings. There will be enough frys to share!!

Have a water plan!! Florida water tastes bad like sulfer and bottled water is expensive in the parks $2.50-$3.00!! Either buy britta sport water bottles at $7.50 or opt for buying Aquafina Bottled water at the Super Walmart for 2/6pks for $5.00.

PS's aren't rigid, but do give you the next table.

Try the ESPN one night when you need your BEEF.

I would suggest a meal at the Prime Time Cafe in MGM. They have some 'good home cooking' types of meals (see the menus mentioned above) plus the atmosphere is fantastic.

If you have ability for off-site transport, take a trip to a Ponderosa or ?Golden Corral? for a steak & salad bar. Normally have $1 off coupons in the booklets right inside the entryway (at least at Ponderosa there were).

Disnee Dad Says........................If you can do a late lunch, it will be half the price of dinner for the same amount. Norway has a lunch buffet for ten bucks and you can get in as late as 4pm, same way with many other places. With the money you save, you can your ice cream later as well as snacks, and still save money!
We budget $30 per day per adult and never go over, but tend to eat breakfast in the room, maybe go out one. Lunch is counter service, especially if we will do a second lunch at 3:45 to 4:00, usually 3 times. Two or three nice dinners. We buy $35-45 of stuff for the room, like water, soup, chips, beer, cookies, cup o noodles, pastries etc. I don't count that as it comes out to about $2.00 a day per person.

I always pack an extra piece of luggage with breakfast and snack items in it. It leaves room at the end of the trip for purchases and I save $$$$. Do purchase a filtered water bottle or bring your own. The water is not the best-sorry I live in Vancouver, BC and I prefer filltered water even in BC.

The Pondarosa is so good and very reasonable we went for breakfast and for dinner in 1999. If possible go for a meal. We just got the buffet and it was great.

I brought small container(M&M) to fill with goodies (in bags) for each of us to carry in the parks we refilled them daily so we could grab a snack when we needed one- avoided going and getting them in a line. We brought gummy bears, nuts, candies, etc.

I also like to have fresh fruit -you can buy in the park but it is quite expensive. I made a stop at a grocery store as I couldn't bring any over the border. Peeled carrots last a few days also.

Hope these ideas help!:)

Gosh everyone, thanks for the great ideas!! I love the extra suitcase bit..haha..thats great! We will definetly have to invest in a filtered water bottle or two...lots of people seem to hate to water..i know i have drinken water there before, but not all that much, so i dont remember. Thanks again everyone!

I love the ideas I heard here. My family pacs those 25 cents bags of chips. They are small enough to fit in the back pac and a couple will satisfy us untill a meal. I also pack powder gatorade for myself instead of buying bottles. When I get hot, water sometimes makes me sick to my stomach. This way I can just mix it as needed and don't have to pay an arm and a leg to purchase it in the parks. We also like dry frosted mini chex. For some reason it seems to fill us up better than chips, etc.. We have those things for snacks, have big breakfast, a medium lunch, and small dinner with another snack later. By the end of the day we are so pooped that we're not very interested in dinner.

Good luck and congrads on the wedding.

A typical day at disney for us is around 25 dollars per person for food or less. That includes those mickey ears!

What we do is get breakfast from the hotel, something light (fruit, or just a bagel or biscuit) about 7 dollars at disney, probably 2 dollars off prop :)

Lunch, inside park min 15 dollars at the low price counter food stuff

Dinner, we drive off property and go to IHOP, Sizzler, Dennys, you name it. It isnt good for you but its cheap!! And if you are a DVC member, Breakfast is quick and easy in the room, and sandwiches are easy to keep cold and such.

YOu could literally get away with just paying for one meal a day!
