Pools / water features in mid-February

We plan to split stay in Beach Club / Poly due to their water features, and also plan to go to Blizzard on the break day. We would plan differently without the water features. Are odds in our favor for those water features to be available and pleasant (at least mid day) in the second half of February?

The pools at the resorts will be open, however the water parks may not be if the forecast is for cold or inclement weather. For instance, right now (end of December) Blizzard Beach is closed for cold weather until 1/4/24. Typhoon is just closed - only one waterpark is currently open at a time. If the temperatures are low when you are there in February, Blizzard could close on short notice.

I must disagree. There is no guarantee that resort pools will be open. Often when it’s cold enough that they close the water park, they can close the resort pools also.

Might depend on your definition of “pleasant” - the pools are heated to something like 85°, but getting out might or might not be enjoyable. February weather is too unpredictable to even make a guess now as to how warm it might be - you might as well do an internet search for “February weather in Orlando FL” to find out the averages and extremes. Sorry not to be of more help!

I agree with others -- weather can be iffy at that time of year. We have often visited in February and sometimes it's warm, other times DD has been the only crazy person in the pool! We come from the north so even a cold day in Florida may seem warm to us. Fortunately, I don't think we've ever encountered closed pools -- just lifeguards wrapped up in winter jackets :rotfl:

The weather is so unpredictable in February. When we have gone, it's been pretty cold - highs in mid-50's. Definitely not pool weather. You may get lucky, but I would come up with some alternate activities if it's too cold to swim.

We visited WDW in late December for nearly 20 years. My DD was a competitive swimmer through high school and still loves the water. She would swim nearly every day no matter how cold, but there were times that they closed the pool which is around 55 degrees. I don't think I would plan my resort choice around "water features" in February because of the possibility that the pool might be closed.

We’re in the middle of a El Niño weather pattern this year which generally means cooler and wetter trends for the Southeast US. That’s not a constant of course, just a macro weather influence.

As others have noted it can be all over the place. Resort pools are heated well so even a slightly cooler day can be tolerable if the sun is out.

Hope you luck out with warm temps!
