Pools at Mods and non-monorail/crescent lake Deluxes (SSR, OKW, AKL)

We've booked ASMu for our stay, but I'm considering adding another night to get better airfare prices. It wouldn't be a park day, so I was considering seeing if I can snag a deal at another resort for a "fancy" pool day.

I'm particularly interested to know about the feature pools or splash pads and the ease of using the locker rooms there. I envision us checking out and storing our stuff with bell service, and then going to to pool. I figure we'll change into our suits there, swim/play, and change back when it's time to catch the tragical express in the afternoon.

I think I read that some resorts require using MB to get in the pool gates, but then I read Disney stopped requiring MB access. Which is the case? If I need working MBs, would ours still work after checkout time? I assume so, but wanted to be sure.

At Mods, the best slide is at CSR and their Mayan theme is neat. CBR has a pirate theme pool and is the only Mod to have a zero entry. AKL pool and slide was a bit of a letdown for our family, but the splash area at Kidani was great. They all have rooms to shower and change by the pool area.
