Hi, All:

Will the staffers/ lifeguards at DLH's pools allow us to bring in pool-toys like diving sticks/ torpedoes, small footballs, squirt guns, etc.?

Hope the 24-hr. event was bearable yesterday. ;) Thanks again.

I don't think so. The pools are quite crowded in the afternoon, and I think some of these would be difficult to play with and not interfere with other guests.

I guess it depends on when you will be there, the toy, and how crowded it is. We bought a couple of toys for my DD to play with and had no problem.

For our visit a couple weeks ago toys/floaties seemed to be at the discretion of the lifeguards. We were in the pool for several hours/day for 4 days.
I saw some lifeguards asking guests to get toys/floaties out of the pool that other lifeguards did not mind; one lifeguard asked one family to take their floaties out but did not ask a second family in the same pool with the same thing at the same time to take their floaties out! Maybe they weren't in her section :)
If there's room for you to pack items you'd like, you can always try! All they will do if it is not allowed is to nicely ask you to remove it. And maybe the next shift will let you...?
Things I saw kids allowed to have/play in the pool: small toys on the pool steps, cookies eaten on the pool steps, beach balls, small swim rings, arm floaties.

Has anyone had recent experiences at the DLH pool in regards to toys? We are going next weekend, and I was planning to bring a beach ball, some squirters, etc...but won't bother if they aren't allowed.

We plan on taking a floatie for our 6 month old. Fingers crossed they let us use it!

Last summer when we were there and this past January (Tink race) they weren't allowing toys and floaties/noodles (arm floaties were allowed) in the pools. It was very crowded.

They do have life vests for kids who need them. Worked much better with my granddaughter than floaties.

ETA - Someone did have a football they were throwing, the life guards had them move to an area away from most of the crowds.

When stayed at the DLH in Feb, lifeguards were not allowing guests to bring any items into the pools. It was busy but not crowded.
