Hello: Just checking to see if they increased the pool temperatures at the resorts. They were to be increased to 82-84 degrees. Has anyone been lately(the last month)? Thanks

Didn't take a thermometer but the main pool at OKW was quite nice once you got in the first week in April. THe airr temp was in the high 80s. I am sensitive to cold so the first few steps in seemed cold but then once I was completely wet it was very refreshing. A couple of degrees warmer would have been okay but not much more than that or you might as well sit in the hot tub or the bath tub in your room. Of course that is just my personal preference and many might disagree.

We were down at SSR the last week of March. When we got home, I sent an email to Member Services asking about the pool temperatures.

Just last week, I got a call from one of the managers saying that although the Red Cross suggests pool temperature should be between 78-84 degrees, and they had set it at 78, they recently decided to up it to 82 degree. So, the water should be a bit warmer.

I have no idea if it's warm enough to feel good, but I can tell you when we were down there, my kids were never cold in the pool at 78. I was, but they were not. But....I think kids play in a pool more than adults in a pool so it doesn't feel as cold.

Being from FL and having a larger than normal pool in our backyard, we've noticed that our pool normally is pretty close to what the Gulf of Mexico is. Right now, our pool temp is 82, and the golf is around 80. I would imagine that within the last few days (it's been really warm), all the pools at WDW would be warming up quite nicely without any external heating.

I still hope they keep to the 82 degree temps in the colder months. We want to plan a big bash over Christmas 2007 and I certainly plan on using the pools (at least I hope to). Even 82 degrees can feel cold if the wind or air temp is cool.

I think we don't have to worry about "too cool pools" until the fall/winter.

Lissa
