We are considering going through Priceline and getting a DD hotel for our trip in June. I would like to go swimming at some of the other pools, last summer we stayed at the AKL and my kids loved the pool there, but I can't afford that this summer - actually we got upgraded from POFQ to AKL, but my kids want to go swimming there this summer. Is that possible if we stay at a DD hotel?

Don't get us all started on Pool Hopping!!! ;)

No, Pool hopping is not allowed. You can only use the pool at the resort in which you are staying at. This excludes DVC members who can use a small amount of the other resorts pools during certain times of the year. So, no you cannot use the AKL or any other WDW resorts swimming pool - sorry.

You are allowed and welcome to visit any of the other resorts for dining etc., but making use of their swimming pool isn't allowed.

Richard. :)

Well, you've picked a VERY hot topic - don't be offended by some of the posts that will likely be coming your way.

Disney's official policy is that only registered resort guests are allowed to swim at any resort pool - that mean you can't go to a resort and swim at their pool.

Some people do try to do this, however. Sometimes they succeed, sometimes they fail. The resorts with the nicer pools either have fences around them (and CMs that check to make sur you're staying at the resort) or are in the process of BUILDING fences to help control this problem.

How would you feel if you were turned away from a pool becuase you weren't a hotel guest - more importantly, how would you children feel? I my opinion, it's not worth the agony of trying to explain to the kids why they can't go swimming in that fabulous pool.

So, sorry, you can't pool hop.

Thanks for those who responded.....

Didn't mean to hit on a touchy subject, had no idea that it was. I don't need any bashing, just a yes or no answer!!
