Can anyone give a concise list of the pool hopping rules and blackout? I will be at the Wildreness Lodge Vills from March 26-April 6. I know I cant go to storm-a-long...but can I go to the POly?
Thanks:confused3

BLT and AKV pools are also off limits. I am not sure about blackout dates.

From December's Disney Files - the current issue is not online yet, so I don't know the blackout dates, but Spring Break/Easter is normally one of the blackout times. Hopefully someone can post what the new Disney Files magazine says for dates - we just got it, but I don't have it handy. In the absence of any other info, I wouldn't plan on any pool hopping during your dates.

Pool hopping is never available at Bay Cove Pool at Bay Lake
Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Uzima Pool and
Samawati Springs Pool at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge,
Stormalong Bay at Disney's Yacht & Beach Club Resorts, the
leisure pool at Disney's Beach Club Villas, or at the
Disneyland®Resort in California.

Black out dates:
•February 14-20, 2010 (Sun – Sat)
•March 27 – April 10, 2010 (Sun – Sat)
•May 28 – 31, 2010 (Fri – Mon)
•June 27 – July 5 (Sun – Mon)
•Sept 3 – 6, 2010 (Fri – Mon)
•Nov 22 – 28, 2010 (Mon – Sun)
•Dec 12, 2010 – Jan 2, 2011 (Sun – Mon)

From the members web site. No hopping for your vacation unless you go on check in day.

The rule is that you call the front desk of the destination resort to get permission and inquire about current availability. However, you may get the go ahead only to arrive and be denied admission either because the front desk was ill informed or that the pool area became full between your call and arrival. You could even be asked to leave during your time if capacity is reached.

During non-blackout times has anyone heard of or been denied themselves from pool hopping? Or has anyone been asked to leave?

I'm just curious if this has actually ever happened.

The answer is yes it has happened, how commonly I can't say. I think the more common issue though is being told no when the CM you're talking to has no knowledge of wether it's really OK or not. And it's not uncommon for them to not even know of the pool hopping perk or have an idea of the rules.

It has never happened to us and we pool hop frequently. We never call, but know that if it is full we could be asked to leave. I'm sure it is possible to have happened to someone, but so far we have been lucky.
