We're actually thinking about pool hopping for fun one afternoon during our stay, assuming it's warm enough. There are 8 of us altogether, staying at BWV, so we won't pool hop there!

We do have a car so there's no limitation from that point of view.

Any suggestions? We're focusing on 9yo girl and the 2 7yo boys.

Thanks!

We didn't use the main pool at SSR, but it looks great for kids. There wer several there enjoying the zero entry.

I know the Yacht/Beach club pool requires you to show your room key showing you are staying at one of those two resorts. if you don't have a room key they won't let you into the pool.

Pool hop over to Poly in the evening in time to see wishes across the lake. ONly time I ever pool hopped and it was great.

If you're going to pool hop I would choose the Polynesian, the Wilderness Lodge or even CSR. If you're going to be on the dining plan CSR has a great Counter Service restaurant.

SSR and CSR both have really fun pools. SSR is probably my top pool choice (it's also the highest rated pool you can hop to in the Unofficial Guide to WDW). In the summer, the second themed pool will be open and there is a cool quiet pool on the lake overlooking DTD that is magical at night. You could also tie in pool-hopping to an afternoon at DTD.

At CSR there is also a great themed playground (best on property in my opinion) and a I agree - a very, very, very nice CS dining area.

POR/Riverside both have themed pools that are well-themed and you can walk or ferry-boat between them.

I was very under-impressed with the POLY pool but it was a nice "cool-down" break from the parks. The WL pool is more adult-looking and located in a lovely setting, but on the smaller side with a tamer waterslide if you have kids that are into "action-pools".

We travel in June and July, and like to spend one day visiting the park in the AM, then catching a boat to the POLY or GF to swim and cool down mid-afternoon. They are not the best pools on property - but they are conveniently located.

Last Aug DS & I enjoyed our poolhop over to the Poly from the VWL

I don't know if I have the stamina to post this..but here goes::scared:

Think that if I wanted to have an afternoon with fun in the water, I would go to BB or TL with all its diversities of things to do.

IMHO... (be gentle please;) ) Can't see hoppin' around to other resorts, in and out of transportation/wet suits/wet me/dragging kids/heat of the day. Doesn't seem at all relaxing or fun.:rolleyes1

BTW.. (no flames please) I also feel that Disney shoud not allow PH. To me, it seems inconsiderate for those guests paying/staying at the particular resort and wouldn't do what I wouldn't want done to me.

OK...I just put my fireproof suit on:duck:

I was under the impression that pool hopping for DVC members was only for hopping to other DVC resort pools (excluding BCV and AKV when it opens) Is it true that we are allowed to hop to any other resort pool? (I am aware the Disney reserves the right to disallow hopping when pools are crowded... or occupancy is high.)

Yes, DVC members are allowed to Pool Hop to any pool except Stormalong Bay and AKL. Pool hopping is restricted during very busy times like 4th of July and Christmas/New Years to reserve the pool areas for resort guests.

Are members staying at BCV allowed to use SAB?

Yes. You are a Beach Club resort guest.

you show your room key when entering the pool for each person in the party (except the tiny ones), get a wrist band, and, there is no PH allowed from other resorts.....ever ;)

Right... we've stayed at the BC and used SAB. I just wasn't sure from reading the info if BCV guests were also allowed to use it.

Thanks! :) :thumbsup2:

Here's some more information...
......from my DVC newsletter I received this AM....

""Pool-hopping reminder
"Hopping" to select pools throughout the Walt Disney World Resort is among the many perks of Disney Vacation Club Membership.

Please remember that pool hopping isn't available at Uzima Pool at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge or Stormalong Bay at Disney's Yacht & Beach Club Resorts. Due to expected high occupancy, pool hopping won't be available at any Resort Feb. 18-24, March 31-April 8, May 25-28, June 30-July 7, Aug. 31-Sept. 3 and Nov. 19-25, 2007; and Dec. 16, 2007-Jan. 2, 2008.""

Thanks for the replies - CSR - Coronado Springs?

Don't worry, Seneca - I'm too tired to flame back :)
And I don't entirely disagree with you.

I think I'll give the options of SSR, CSR, or Poly, and let them choose.
We might be trying 'Ohana and the Poly would then be a natural choice for that afternoon.

Thanks for the advice!
