Hi Everyone!

Here's a little introduction. We're Jason and Cathy and we've been married for 6 years. We've been to Disney three times in six years, so yeah we're Disney freaks.

We stayed at Disney 9/14 through 9/26. From the 14th through the 19th we were at Pop with free dining. This was our first experience on the DDP. We spent months here planning our meals and doing research. We planned out every meal, every dessert, and every snack. We love planning our vacations almost as much as we love going on them!

Day 1
So we get to Disney and we drive through the gates. What to do first? Check in to the hotel? Tempting, seeing as we drove for the last 18 hours to get here. (Only had one accident, but that's another story) Hit the parks right away? After that drive, no. If you know us, then you know the first thing to do when you get to Disney World is Beaches and Cream!

Our research told us that Beaches and Cream would be a waste of a TS credit, so we paid cash. Besides, we like to share so this would be cheap. We decided, months ago, to split a double cheeseburger and then split the Fudge Mud Slide. It may not sound like much, but we were stuffed.

Her half, without all the "yucky stuff."

The Mud slide was really good, but it doesn't beat the No Way Jose. The food here is surprisingly good, and they always split ours so nice.

More to come, so stay tuned!

Yum yum! :goodvibes

But you two aren't pooh sized!!! False advertising! You're lovely normal folk!

I look forward to reading more!

(Cathy typed this one up, my comments are in parenthesis - Jason)

Ok, so we checked into our room, took a nap and headed over to Downtown Disney. We decided to eat at Earl of Sandwich as a counter service meal.

Maybe you can tell from my burger I am a picky eater. Part of the planning is researching menus and looking at pictures to make sure that I will like something on the menu.

Earl of Sandwich had three sandwich's that I wanted to try. Sometimes my husband and I order two things that I want just in chase I don't like one of them. This is great except my husband likes to try the weirdest things and I sometimes feel that I hold him back from trying new things. I am truly blessed with a great husband. (Yeah she is.)

We got the meatball and a peanut butter and jelly sandwich (we're grown up kids). On the dining plan we also got a drink and a dessert, so we had a brownie and cupcake. We were too full from the sandwich's to eat the desserts! Both sandwich's were delicious, but we agreed that the peanut butter and jelly was better (It really is!). Weird that something so plain would be so good. (Try it)

The meatball sub. Don't get us wrong, this was good too.

Our desserts:

After that we headed to (my favorite place in the World!) Goofy's Candy Kitchen. Uh-oh. We restrained oursleves (too full from the sandwiches) and used one snack credit to get this:

Rice Krispie treat with sprinkles on one side and m&ms on the other. (My favorite people are those Goofy workers.)

Thanks for all the comments and kind words. I think we don't look pooh sized next to that giant Sundae!

Day 2
50's prime time cafe

Well this was an interesting place. We got here a little earlier than our reservation at 2:50 because I was hungry. This was our lunch, so it was getting late. It was crowded, but we got seated within 10 mins. The staff was great and the food was sooooo good.

Again, we spit everything. I loved the pbj shake and the fried chicken. It was very good. The chicken pot pie was good but nothing special. I only thought that the smores dessert was ok, but Jason loved his Dad's Brownie Sundae (Best thing I ate on the trip, and you've seen that Fudge Mud Slide).

We were in a sugar overload at this point. This is one of the few places to get a shake as a drink on the Dining Plan. Our rating: probably would not go again, but was fun to do once. The theming was excellent and our waitress was good, but it was nothing that special. (My rating: Would go just to order dessert.)

At this point the Dining Plan was giving us a bit more food than we needed. The shake and two desserts was too much.

I'm really enjoying reading your review and I'm looking forward to the rest of your choices!:) Thanks so much for writing and sharing your experiences!:)

I'm in ! Loving the reviews so far.

I am an obsessive planner as well. Hubby laughs at me but I have poured over the menus for hours to make sure we eat at the best places for us.

You guys remind me of my DH and I. We are big kids when it comes to food also. My DH just saw the pic of your burgers at Beaches and Cream and we changed our plans to make sure we go there. :lmao:

Can't wait to read the rest.

POP's food court

Ok so we are on the Dining Plan and the cool thing about eating at Pop is that we had our refillible mugs that we would fill then get a bottle of juice or coffee shot for the morning. We were impressed with the food court and ate there three times. Pop is our new favorite resort because of this place. We love that the food was good too.

I got the chicken alfredo and Jason got the Mom's TV dinner of fried chicken. For dessert, I got the tye dyed cheesecake and Jason got the dirt and worms (Remember, grown up kids here).

Tie-Dye Cheesecake:

(Beware of the cheesecake, it has side effects.)

(Apparently there are similar effects in the bathroom, if you know what I mean. Cathy will kill me when she reads this.)

Day 3

The next day for lunch we also ate at Pop. (Can you tell we liked this place?) This time we had a burger and pizza and split both. Sorry we forgot pictures for that one.

y'all are awesome...when I go in May I am taking pictures of all my food..lol..oh and aren't we all just grown up kids?lol...i'm still not sold on the 50's Prime Time Diner, just not real sure i'll like it but we are going nontheless...

Boma Dinner
This is Jason. I’m writing this one for reasons that will soon become clear. You may remember that Cathy is a very picky eater. She mentioned she felt guilty about not letting me try new things, so she let me pick Boma as a meal. She wanted me to pass on her one word review. “Yuck.” She said even the macaroni and chicken fingers were bad.

I had a different experience. We were there when it opened and they were playing drums before hand. It was really cool and I was getting into it. I started dancing around and acting fool, and I know Cathy was getting embarrassed.

We finally got seated. I walked the buffet and I was in heaven. So many things to try! There’s going to be a lot of pictures:

Salad on the buffet. The Apple Vinaigrette was great.

More salad:

Another shot of the buffet:

The soups:
Disney2008vol1090-1.jpg

I tried them all! The Seafood Stew and the Corn Porridge were Oh my gosh! good. The best part about the buffet.

My first plate. I don’t even know what it was but it was all good:
Disney2008vol1096-1.jpg

There’s prime rib and chicken. Can’t really screw that up.

Meanwhile, a Cathy plate:

She barely touched it.

Back in Jason’s fantasy land,
Disney2008vol1098-1.jpg

Yes that’s three different kinds of hummus. The olive one was too die for.

Wanna see something we both like?
Disney2008vol1093-1.jpg

That’s all. Yep the only stuff she really liked.

This is what I do to fruit on a buffet. I destroy it.
Disney2008vol1104-1.jpg

Ok, this happened:
Disney2008vol1100-1.jpg

That’s the watermelon salad. I took one bite. I can’t say I didn’t like it. I think I liked it a lot. I just wouldn’t ever take another bite.

Ever.

An aggressive dessert plate to finish this off:

Uh, two plates:

After that, we waddled over to the Not So Scary Halloween Party and scored this haul:

Cathy didn’t get as much:

I’m just better at this stuff.
