We stayed at Pongos' Paradise December-January, 2006/07.
It's located in Indian Creek, Kissimmee.

About Indian Creek:

Located in the Formosa Gardens area, it's defintiely a VERY quick trip to WDW property. One stop sign (at a four way stop on Funie Steed Road), right onto 192 at the first light, over onto the left lane, and turn left onto Sherbeth Road, a very short drive -very, very , very short! -and you're at the entrance to Animal Kingdom Lodge. Indian Creek is non-gated community, sidewalks, paly areas, tennis courts, and a jogging/walking track circuit. Mostly STR homes, but there are quite a few permanent residents as well. The new turnpike/Western Way does slice through the development, but it was very obvious that this was well planned for in the initial development phase. The Formosa Gardens Shopping Plaza, complete with a non-branded WinnDixie, is definitely within walking distance. Just about every other tourist service is right there, and there is a 24 hour WalGreen's just at that first set of lights.

Just be careful when pulling in and out of the FGShopping Plaza...the Outback Restaurnat with it's outdoor patio (and lots of holidaying tourists) is RIGHT there as you turn in, on or off the main road...as well as a choked parking area. We saw many fender benders, and quickly started to use the entrance further up from the restaurant area.

4 Bedroom, 3 baths, 2 master ensuites, games room, high speed internet, s/swfacing pool and hot tub

Have to start by saying, Karen and Mike are WONDERFUL owners! Great contact, great information, and lots of thoughtful, personal touches for us.

Checking in was a breeze - it's a keypad lock, so no worries about collecting a key from a MC office somewhere else. When we arrived, the owner of the MC was there, just finishing up our pre-arrival inspection...very nice to meet him, we never had anything to call him about! PP is located on a nice little cul-de-sac, and rental homes on both sides. Tall fencing on one side and across the back (so it's not overlooked at all!) and 10 feet tall shrubs/trees on the other side. Gas barbeque was waiting for us along the side of the house..Karen has a company that looks after the barbeque, meaning..you don't have to rely on the guests before you to clean it..it gets picked up, cleaned, tank refilled, and you don't have to worry about cleaning it yourself when you're done!!:)

Pool area is fabulous. South/Southwest facing pool, with a stand-alone hot, hot, hot tub! 103-105 degrees...aahhh! (adjustable jets, light, and a lounger model) Pool is gas heated, so even our chillier days the pool was wonderfully warm...84-86 degrees easily. We did make sure to use the pool blanket when we weren't in the pool. Lots of comfortable seating on the pool deck, pool toys/floaters available in the garage - as well as an inflating pump. That was handy! Cover on the hot tub is one handed operation, very easy to cover and uncover. Great little stand to hang wet suits and towels on as well.

The master bedroom and living room have sliding doors, and a door from the twin bedroom area of the house all lead to the pool area. All doors are full alarmed for safety.

When we arrived, the Christmas Tree was all set up, and lit - complete with a few Santa treats under the tree. Apparently, Santa likes to head to PP for a few days before the Christmas rush;) Thank you Karen! The rest of the house was lightly decorated for the holidays as well. Everything was unbreakable.

The living room has a sofa, loveseat, and big comfy chair with an ottoman (and a soft chenille throw to cuddle up under)...to view that BIG screen TV! Sony PS2 and a large selection of family/action adventure and romance movies, VHS and DVD..and a growing collection of vacation reading (we always leave our books - more room in the suitcases for souvenirs)

Dining room has large table, 6 comfortable chairs, and a computer desk area for your laptop...

King size bed in the master, pillowtop mattress, cable tv with remote, ceiling fan and light, large drawer dresser, storage armoire, and 2 nightstands with more drawer storage....soaker tub for 2 in the master bath, as well as dual sinks, hair dryer, medicine cabinet, linen closet, HUGE walk-in shower with handheld shower adjustable rainfall shower head, and a HUGE walk-in closet. Baby pack and play, with extra sheets and blankets for the mstr bedroom and crib, and lots of hangers!

Queen size master suite, pillowtop mattress, cable tv with remote, tall large drawer dresser, cute Mickey lamp, double closet with sheets and extra blankets, nightstand with drawer storage, and large reading lamp. Full bathroom, tub, shower combo, single sink, hair dryer.

Twin bedrooms - Dalmatian Theme and a Hawaii/Lilo and Stitch Theme.
Twin beds, dresser and lamp, cable tv with remote (mounted on the walls), extra bedding and single size roll-away cots in the double closets.
TONS of Dalmatian plushie puppies to play with, and plushie Stitch, too.

All mattresses very comfortable and new.

Main bath is located in between the 2 twin bedrooms. Full bath/shower combo, single sink, medicine cabinet, hair dryer.

LOTS of pool towels, house towels and facecloths! Even some mickey ones!

Kitchen has EVERYTHING...mixer, crockpot, teapot, coffemaker, knives, mixing bowls, chip bowls, TONS of coffee filters, creamers, sugars, pots, pans, cookie sheets, salt and pepper shakers, extra spices, lots of plasticware for the pool area, corelle style dishes for the house, utensils, list could go on and on. There wasn't a single thing that we said, it would be nice to have ______ in the kitchen. Icemaker in the Fridge - just make sure the handle is down, so it will make more ice. Large pantry for dry good storage. Broom and dustpan, and "landline"house phone. Folks can call in, and you can use a calling card to call out long distance. We just used our cell phone. A portable phone and base is in the master bedroom, and another landline phone in the queen suite.

And a binder full of useful home information...instruction sheets, maps, take out menus, you name it, it's there...phone book too.

Garage is now a games room...complete with pool table, fooseball table, and a selection of board games available. Full size washer and dryer, baby equipment (strollers - 4, count 'em, four! high chair), broom, dustpan, vaccum, shelving, pool towels, pool toys.

The light switches are all labeled - which was one of those surprisingly great touches...complete laminated instructions on how to work the TV, and aux stuff...right by the TV.

Pongo's Paradise is just a lovely, relax, and feel at home, kind of home... you know when you're sitting by the pool and the kids are having a ball, that you've picked the right spot....

...and can't wait to go back.

How affordable was it to stay here? I'm looking for a villa for the end of March, and was just wondering how much would it cost. Thanks!

Thank you so much!! I had so much fun with you and your boys! I really enjoyed writing the letter from Santa and getting to hear how they reacted to the letter and the treats!
