Polynesian villas or village which was more recently renovated?

Looking to stay in the poly in 2020, trying to figure out which to stay in the villas or village. Which was more recently renovated? And what do you prefer if you had experience in either. Coming with a family of 4 (2 kids ages 12 and 9).
Looks like villa offers 2 bathrooms in one room which seem cool, but want to make sure that it was the updated section of hotel.

We just stayed in a DVC studio late July. I think the studios were converted regular rooms. I believe they converted every room in 3 rooms. Totally redone, bathrooms, put in a kitchenette, floors, lighting everything.

I don’t think the non DVC rooms have been renovated but maybe they are in the process.

The Villas opened in 2015 and will receive a soft goods refurbishment in 2022.

The Polynesian villas don't really have two bathrooms, just two bathing areas. There is a room with a tub/shower, sink and toilet and another with a shower and sink. Only one toilet.

The DVC villas also have one queen bed, one sleeper sofa, and one pull down bed, as they sleep 5.

The rooms have 2 queen beds and a sofa bed that goes flat..IIRC.

Not sure if this will make a difference to you or not.

The resort side rooms are 2013’ish vintage and presumably somewhere next up to see renovations (a few test rooms were constructed earlier this year). TBD when that happens, but it’s about due.
