Polynesian Villas location vs Polynesian Water/Pool room location, help me make a choice

So sorry to hijack the thread a little bit, but I was so excited to see these pics! We are going over spring break of 2020, and originally I booked a standard BC room. We stayed in a standard room at the Poly in 2013, and it we thought it was *ok*. Not our fav resort, but it was fine. We were excited about staying in the EP/HS area in 2020, as we have never done that, but I have two teen boys, and my oldest is a shower hog. I kept thinking about having that extra shower in the Poly studio and not having to holler at him as I'm trying to get everyone out the door for RD in the morning. After much agony and debate, I booked a studio at Poly. These pics now have me really excited!

I'm wondering about the coffee situation. I see in the pics that it looks like a regular coffeemaker in the kitchenette area. Is it the kind that takes a pod that Disney mousekeeping provides, or can I bring filters and ground coffee from home? We are getting the DDP, so we'll have mugs...where is the closest place to run and get coffee early in the morning if I decide I don't want to fuss with the coffeemaker? Do I have to go all the way to Captain Cook's or is there someplace closer to the DVC area?

DVC coffee makers are Mr Coffee style with flat bottom basket filters. Usually 10-12 cup sized. You may get a 4-6 cup size, but you can ask Housekeeping for the larger coffee pot if you need it and if they have one available. If you do a DVC rental, your supplies will be replaced every four days. You'll get maybe one regular and one decaf each time Housekeeping comes to your villa. You can bring your own filters and coffee if you want to drink more than a few cups every four days. Or you can purchase a coffee pack from Housekeeping for an extra fee. You have to remember that DVC is a timeshare and members pay for everything required for maintaining the resort. So if you want more service than you get as a DVC member, you can pay for those services.

I should warn that many of the DVC units are pretty beat up. Lots of broken knobs, stuck drawers, that stuf.

Since I'm a cash gal and not a rental points gal, do I get one regular/one decaf daily, along with daily housekeeping? If I bring my own filters, is there a specific kind/size that I should I purchase before I come?

If I decide to skip making coffee in the room, and I want to fill my mug, where is the closest coffee fill station? Do I need to walk all the way to the main Ceremonial House, or is there a closer place to the DVC studios? Thanks so much!

If you booked directly with Disney and not through DVC, you will get a daily full cleaning and your supplies replenished every day.

You should be able to get your coffee at Capt Cook's.

As far as storage goes, there are 2 under the bed drawers in the Poly DVC studio that were decent sized. We also opened the coffee table chest and used that. Each bathroom has 2 shallow drawers for stuff as well as shelves on each side. I like that there are night tables on each side of the bed unlike BWV where we usually stay. I think each night table had a drawer. I like the lighting in the DVC unit.

I think my favorite thing was being able to easily do laundry in Moorea and hang up the shirts and pants on the curtain rod in the bathroom that had the shower rod. We prefer to take fewer clothes and using the rod was very helpful. We keep plastic hangers in our owners locker just for this purpose. I liked the 2 bathroom setup but found the seat in the stand up shower very slippery to sit on. I especially enjoyed the Oasis pool ( so warm in late July), the easy walk to the bus area, and the absolutely beautiful grounds both day and night. Going through security before boarding the monorail was extremely painless but we always go at off times (not rope stop). I would like to own here but likely will just use my BWV points for summer stays.

Currently it opens at 7am. It offers pop filling station, plus coffee and tea.
I’m not sure what time the filling station closes at though. We were at the Oasis pool till 11pm last night, but I noticed that the pop and coffee tea was shut down much earlier then that.
