Polynesian Resort/Trader Sam's without an ADR?

My understanding is that guests not staying at a resort cannot access that resort unless they have an ADR for one of the restaurants.

I am hoping to visit Trader Sam's (as well as explore the Polynesian Resort while waiting for Trader Sam's). If I say I am going to Trader Sam's will I be allowed onto the property, or is Trader Sam's only for guest of the Polynesian Resort?

I am thinking that, if I absolutely need to show an ADR, I could get an ADR for Kona Cafe in order to be allowed on property. I could get something small there to justify my reservation (not particularly interested in Kona Cafe - maybe a dessert?) while waiting for something to open up at Trader Sam's.

You can access the resort via disney transportation without an ADR. You can access via car or rideshare (uber, lyft) with an ADR reservation.

Can I access both the resort and Disney transportation if I’m staying at on off-property, though still ‘official’, hotel (Holiday Inn Disney Springs)?

Yes. IDK if you can access it directly from Holiday Inn as I'm not familiar with their transportation and whether they have transportation that will drop you off at, for example, the monorail and then you go on from there. However, you go to any "disney bubble" transportation point (monorail, skyliner, bus, boats) and ride any of them even though you are not staying on-property

Yeah - they don't check for guest IDs for anything like that at resorts, or on buses. They'll stop you from parking at a resort, but they're more than happy to have folks wandering around (shopping, dining, etc), even if they're not staying at a Disney resort. It's actually something that's popular for folks on their non-park days - just go wander through a resort or two. There might be sections that are limited to resort guests only (ie, pools), but they're otherwise happy to have you.

If the Holiday Inn has transpo to the MK, for example, you can take the monorail (or a boat) to Poly from there. If they drop at the TTC, you can just walk over to Poly. (If you can get to Disney Springs, you can also take a Poly bus from there. The only part they frown on with that is parking at Disney Springs to go somewhere else - they'd rather you not do that. But they don't mind if you hop on a bus.)

If you walk from the Holiday Inn to Disney Springs, catch a resort bus to Poly, you will be just fine. No one will check your ID or ask for any verification/reservation of any kind. You can even park at Disney Springs and do the same thing.

Okay, I believe that I got the idea that you need an ADR to visit the resorts from the *parking* rules. Can’t park unless you have an ADR. But you are free to visit as long as you use Disney transportation to get there. Thanks for clearing it up for me!

You could also pay to park at the TTC and walk over to the Poly. (Not the most economical option)
