Hellol everyone, I will be staying at the Polynesian in late Nov. I am renting a car and was wondering where would I park at the hotel? I have always stayed at GF and used the Valet parking, however I wont be needing that this time as we will only have a few small bags. Is there a spot to park your car,or do you have to Valet park? .....Thanks for any input...

Depending on where your room is located the main lot is not a bad walk compared to most other resorts I have been to. I have always gotten a spot very close to the room. If you are over in Tahiti or Rapa Nui (which are the farthest from the lobby) there is a parking lot over next to Rapa Nui that is never full and hardly used.

Parking should be no problem. The thing we quickly realized was that we never used our car once it was parked! So if you are not planning to go to other places during your stay, you might want to think about not using a car.

Thanks so much, actually I considered not renting a car, however since we are coming tinto Sanford Orlando it ends up being cheaper to rent a car for our stay than using a taxi or limo to the hotel

I know people are split on this issue but I will never go to WDW without a car again. We use it often to eat at other resorts, go from parks to other Disney locations or just keep our stuff in so we don;t have to carry it around all day.

I can't tell you how many times I see people ask how to get from a park to another location and the bus driver says that they need to take a bus to a resort and wait for another bus or go up to the TTC or DTD and get another bus.

Just my opinion.

Steve, I totally agree. We like the ability to just jump in the car and head off to another resort. Also some the parks that are a little further away make having a car so wonderful. This trip we plan on visiting the Wilderness lodge to look around and have dinner, after dinner we are going on a carrage ride at Port NOL. Really would be difficult (not impossible) without a car.

Only 2 more days till our celebration trip and The Polynesian.

We rented a car for 105.00 through Dollar for five days, not only is it cheaper and more convieniant than having to use the other modes of transportation but it also affords us the choice to dine at any of the restraunts on International Drive if we so desire...Also they give you a parking pass when you arrive at your hotel so you do not pay for parking...Although I am very happy about being able to use the monarail for both MK and EPCOT,since we are staying at the Poly, thanks to the great info obtained on TIKIMAN and these boards as well....thanks so much.

We never rent a car. Even when we took our own car we never used it. It is much easier to grab a cab then drive around yourself.

We too always have a car. We don't go off property other than grocery/liquor/drugstore but can't imagine not having one to get to other parks, resort restaurants, etc..

Parking at the Polynesian is very convenient. :sunny:
