Just booked a night at the poly at the end of Sept on the official wdw site and got a deal for $204 for a garden view. The same deal was available on expedia, but had different terms and conditions. With the disney deal you have a 46 day cancellation notice, whereas expedia were giving a 5 day notice. The deposit was basically the room price. My questions are as follows

1. Is this a good deal?

2. Was I right to make ressies with the disney site rather than expedia?

3. My mother may be accompanying us, will it be a problem to pay the extra person supplement when we arrive?

4. Any recommendations on what room/building I should request?

I can't wait to go- I was in disney many times as a child and am now getting to bring my own kids!

Yes that is a good deal!:D It looks like the best deal you could get with any code or AP.:D
I think you should call back and let them know ahead of time that your mother will be with you...just as a courtesy. Then there will be no confusion when you get there.
There are no bad rooms or views at the Poly!!!:D
It is a gorgeous resort and all the rooms are wonderful.
There is some construction going on in the Fiji and Aotearoa buildings and I don't know how long that will last. May be done by time you go. But even the so-called "parking lot" views are beautiful There is so much foliage and trees, you will never know the parking lot is there. Samoa is a smoking building and can be very noisy since it is near the volcano pool. We started out with a room there, but the smell of smoke was just too overwhelming for me. We were moved to Tokelau!! which was perfect.

Hope you have a great time!!

Joanna that is a great price, If you happen to live in Georgia, Texas, Virginia, Washington DC, Minnesota, maryland or Colorado you can do even better than that at $193 per night including tax.

for information on the Polynesian it doesn't get any better than Steve's site (Tikiman) http://tikiman2001.homestead.com/index.html
enjoy

That'a great price for the Poly, I'd stay with it. and yes, you were right for booking through Disney. You must have called the Disney Travel Co, their cancellation is 45 days, but if you call CRO, it is 5 days.

The Polynesian is so amazing in it's theming! Be sure to check out Tikiman's site, as Josierac posted above! :)

have a great trip!

Laura :)

That's a great price! :) I love the Polynesian! ;) I hope to get to stay there again sometime (soon, I hope!). Garden view I personally like the Aorteora building, most DIS'ers really like the Tokelau building (also a great choice!).

Have fun!!!

we got the poly for $184 with the fall fling rate (garden view) we have gone from off site to two rooms at ASMO and then POFQ, then when the fall fling rates were so low I said it's too good to pass up! It's not that much more than 2 rooms at the ASMO, and with the monorail we won't need a rental car. This is a surprise for the kids and with the Lilo & stitch excitment around our house they'll love it.

Just wanted to say thanks for the info. Over the weekend, we decided to go for two rooms and ended up with GF ressies for $234 a night. Garden view- any tips on where to request rooms? What are the chances of getting a deal on a suite instead of the two rooms? I'll check out the FAQ, but if anyone has any suggestions I'd be happy to hear them.

Thanks again

Joanna

A suite? They'd probably charge you an additional $800 a night for a suite.

I personally like the Sago Cay building for garden view. :)

Aorteaora is our favorite GV building too.:)

In May, we stayed in room 1913 Tokelau and loved it. You look over the lagoon to the GF. It is a garden room, with more than a glimpse of the beach and the lagoon. We found it to be very conveniently located, too. We loved the Polynesian, and would stay again in a heartbeat.
