We are staying at the Polynesian for the first time in October. The only place I saw hot dogs available was room service. Are hot dogs available anywyhere else at the Polynesian?

They used to have them at Captain Cooks before the renovations a couple years ago. On our last trip after the renovation they had totally changed the menu there and there were no hot dogs. I don't think you can get them at the Poly anymore. My only guess would be the pool bar and I don't even know if they sell food there?:confused3 They did have hot dogs at the pool grill at the Contemporary last March so I guess if you were desperate you could hope on the monorail and go there.

When my family and I stayed there in December 2007 I did not see Hot Dogs listed on the menu for room service or at Captin Cook's.

Do your hot dog eaters like toasted cheese sandwiches? The kid's grilled cheese was the staple for our 7 year-old DGD at Captain Cook's. There are hot dogs on the children's menu (both lunch and dinner) at Kona Cafe because I remember she ate them there.

If you don't mind taking the Resort Monorail one stop to the Grand Floridian or using the walkway which goes there, their counter service location which is called Gasparilla's Grill & Games has a Rueben Hot Dog available on their regular menu. Plus there are also Hot Dogs available on their kids menus.

I checked the lunch and dinner menus online for the Kona Cafe when I got the above link for Captain Cooks, and there are no Hot dogs on it. They could have done a menu change.

I double checked both the dis site you used and allears.net dining menus and they are still there. You need to look at the Kona Cafe children's menu: breakfast, lunch & dinner. They are not at the top but when you scroll down far enough you will see hot dog listed as one of the entree choices. You get to choose salad or something else as a first course, then one of the entrees and a dessert. There are some complete meals listed above those choices.

how OLD are those menus?

the ones I checked came from the DISNEY site.

The allears menu agrees with what we found in person two months ago. The other site that is higher up in this thread is dis and I believe that stands for disboards. The hot dogs are on that menu also. They are only on the children's menu from both sites.

Sorry to DISappoint (hehehehe)

but I went to the WDW site and read all the menus. the one I quoted was that last one, I did check about three or four from the WDW site but realized that the one I quoted was from DIS, and they ALL hve no mention of what the OP was looking for.

all that aside, the current menu's displayed do not show the hotdogs.

Well, when I look at the disneyworld.disney.go.com site I can't even find the children's menu for Kona cafe and I agree that hot dogs are not listed on the regular menus there. But I trust the allears and dis links to have updated info., especially since they agree with what we experienced 2 months ago. The other suggestions above in this thread give op nearby options in case they find there truly has been a change.

I guess that makes sense, that a non-disney site would have more up to date info than Disney.

where do they GET the information they post? (Disney web site?):confused3

Or do they get updates directly from Disney that have not been posted on Disneys web site and not available to the general public?

Really would like to know, so that when I plan, I know which information is correct.
