Polynesian Dining - Opinions

I totally agree about the variety of opinions! Everyone has one! For us, 'OHana used to be a favorite/must-do. But in the last several years, with the cost going up and the menu changing (and taking away some of our favorites), we now view it as something we don't need to do very often anymore. We decided to try it again on a trip this past January, and while we enjoyed the dinner - it was not worth the price we paid.

Over the years, we have found we enjoy Kona for breakfast, the the dinner menu is somewhat limited and so-so.

All that being said, you'll need to form your own opinion at some point!!

Kona Island offers some great snack/breakfast items that are far different quality than you get at the CS places but they only get a small amount and when they are gone that is it... On that be careful as we almost were hit by people running up the stairs to make a reservation on more than one occasion in the mornings.

I'll toss in my 2 cents...my DH LOVED Ohana for breakfast. We did it to celebrate my 10-yr-olds big day, and they had gluten free waffles and everything she could possible want (except for the coconut bread). We love Lilo and Stitch. My girls were so happy and I have to admit I cried eating there to see my big girl so happy to eat exactly what her sister had at a restaurant. Our waitress was so kind (but a little slow...because GF). And now, my DH talks about it all the time. How we'd have to do that again if we ever go back.

I didn't dare try for supper because it's hard for us to stay out late.

'Ohana might be the most polarizing restaurant on Disney property. I've personally never experienced the problems that many people describe, so if you can handle the cost, I'd still recommend it. But I totally understand that it's on a lot of "never again" lists.

I will say that I've essentially written off Kona Café at this point. The menu changes are bad enough, but the real issue is the service there is consistently awful. I don't understand how it's always so terrible.
