I cross posted this in the resort section because I am not sure where it makes the most sense. We are traveling with someone wheelchair bound and will be staying in the DVC studios. The roll in shower rooms are already booked, but from what I have seen is that the studios have a tub and "walk in" shower. That walk in shower appears to be big enough to accommodate a wheelchair. Has anyone had experience with wheelchairs and these showers?

There was a recent thread on the Resorts forum about walk-in showers: http://www.disboards.com/threads/wdw-hotel-rooms-with-walk-in-showers.3570262/
I'm not sure the Poly studio is actually "roll-in" -- the description in post #17 in the above thread indicates a raise step. Whether or not that suits your needs probably depends on ability to stand and transfer.

But I haven't stayed in one of these rooms, so hopefully someone will come along with personal experience.

Enjoy your vacation!

He is wheelchair bound (paralyzed from chest down). I am not worried about the 'step' more than I am the width of the shower door.

Stayed several times. Have bi-lateral knee replacements so I love the step-in shower. My recollection is that it is quite spacious inside in both width and depth... I like to sit on the built in bench and there is lots of room I suspect the wheel chair would fit, but I'm wondering about whether getting it through the door might be a problem. I'll be interested to hear what others have to say. It IS big, though!
