Poly vs. Wilderness Lodge?

so we're now going between these two resorts. We're going oct 16-24 and are hoping to score a room only 30 percent off discount of some sort. Crosses fingers.

Love the theming at both. We're usually beach people but are intrigued by the lodge. We're two newlyweds and go primarily for food and wine fest but always visit all parks during our visit.. Our second fave park to visit is of course MK.

Any and all opinions welcome. We're really concerned more with what's worth the price and which has the better transportation? And overall satisfaction of course. A king bed and double sinks is my hubby's requirement :)

Not sure about the double sinks but my pick would be the Poly. I have stayed at both and love them but because you can walk to TTC from the Poly which gives you a straight shot to MK and Epcot then I would pick Poly especially during food and wine festival!! Good luck!

If you are going for food and wine I would definitely pick the Poly based on the transportation options. As PP mentioned, you can walk to TTC and then take the monorail to Epcot.

In general I agree with the previous posters, the ease of transportation to both MK and Epcot is a big plus. However, construction disruption continues at the Poly. For that reason I would give the nod to Wilderness Lodge.

We've stayed at both and while we love the WL, the Poly is our favorite. I can't help with a king bed room, but I think all bathrooms at the Poly now have double sinks. There used to be just 1 or 2 older long houses that had double sinks, but that was changed when they did the most recent room refurbs. As for transportation, we have found both resorts to be great. The Poly, however, is very convenient for getting to Epcot as it's a short walk to the TTC to catch the Epcot monorail. It's also just 2 monorail stops from MK (although WL has the boat to MK as well as a bus that goes direct with no stops). With all of that said, you really can't go wrong with either resort as they are both great places to stay. Good luck.

I guess my vote is different than the rest. I would pick WL by a long shot, we were extremely disappointed in the Poly and it was my DW and I dream resort. Maybe we need to try it again but it was very disappointing when we were there.

The Poly is our favorite hands down, but I am not sure they have king size bed rooms?? I have not been keeping up on the construction details, but if there is still construction going on I would go to another resort.

If the construction is over the Poly is amazing for it's location, theme and rooms. Love watching Wishes and Hallowishes from the beach, our room or the CL. Beats fighting for space at MK. We really like walking to the TTC to catch an EPCOT monorail. We have had great bus service at the Poly.

If you are spending a lot of time at EPCOT for F&W, book an EPCOT hotel. Walking home from F&W is a huge plus.

I love both WL and Poly! However, with the current construction I would have to say WL. We had such a wonderful trip last year when we stayed at WL (courtyard view). It was a relaxing boat ride to the MK where we were able to pick up the monorail or just go to MK. The bus service was wonderful (a little better than Poly) and such a short walk to the stop just outside the building. The rooms were great as were the restaurants. I like the location of the counter service restaurant as well. We spent a few evenings poolside which was very relaxing. While I enjoyed the Poly, I was not a fan of their counter service area (it lacked seating outside) and the feature pool was on the small side. The rooms were always darker/dimmer and this was the ONLY resort where we had a surprise waiting in the toilet!!! I've NEVER had that happen at any other resort on WDW property.

There should only be construction at the east pool during that time frame. I would book the poly and request a longhouse on the west side of the resort.

Thanks everyone! Anyone know roughly how long it takes to walk to the ttc from the poly?

And do the buses for both of these stop at other resorts before making it to the parks?

Pre-construction depending on where you start from, 5-7 minutes.

We walked to the TTC from the Poly lobby last fall and with all the construction detours it was not a quick walk. i would guess that it was not a quick walk. I'm sure that it was ten minutes or more depending on your starting point.

The WL bus to Epcot shares with FW. The WL bus to DHS and AK usually share with the GF or sometimes FW. The WL bus to Mk is direct and is a five minute ride. The boat to MK is about 12 minutes long and there is a boat to CR and FW, too.

The Poly only has buses to DHS and AK and they share with CR. There are exceptions when the monorail is down, though, but those would be unusual situations.

We just booked the wilderness lodge oct 16-24th so excited. Thanks for all of the help!
