Hi!
I am slowly starting to gather info for a 20th anniversary "Disney"moon! On our original honeymoon, we stayed at the Grand Floridian. It was wonderful. But, I thought it might be nice to stay at a different deluxe location this time. We have been to WDW many times, but have never stayed at either the Contemporary or the Poly. Any thoughts or coments would be appreciated. Give me the good, the bad, and the ugly! (But, hopefully mostly the good!)
Thanks so much

I'm preparing at my pace our 20th anniversary disneymoon too (POFQ and WL 20 years ago) and I will probably split between AKL and Poly this time. that's my 2 cents.

Love Poly. Beautiful grounds, torch lit at night. Both pools beautifully themed, great dining, Trader Sam's, great transportation, with monorail or boat to MK, and a short path to TTC for Epcot monorail. Love sitting on beach or floating in volcano pool watchingvWishes.

CR I can't say too much about. We haven't stayed there mainly due to lack of appeal. No pretty grounds, hotel looks to me like it could be any airport hotel. Pool is meh.
The pros would be ability to walk to MK. I think it took us 15 or 20 min? At a stroll. I didn't time. Also great TPV rooms. Also good dining.

But with any monorail resort you have great dining because it's so easy to get to the other resorts via monorail.

I was lucky enough to do a split stay between the two last August. And while the walk from Contempo to MK was very nice, the rooms were beautiful and the staff was great, but the Poly was hands down my favorite. The grounds, taking the ferry to MK, the pool the torches. Everything about it was so beautiful and magical.

Poly.

I love the CR but if you're doing it for a romantic getaway the Poly's themeing will fit MUCH better than the CR.

We have stayed at both and MUCH prefer the Poly. We even had a theme park view at CR and it felt more like a parking lot view...I suppose it's better from a higher floor but we requested a high floor and didn't get it. The only advantage of the CR is the walk to MK. Poly wins in every other respect for us. If you stay at Poly you can easily monorail over to CR for a dinner at California Grill.

Thank you all so much for your responses! Funny thing, I was leaning more towards the Poly! Now, with the replies I've gotten so far, it sounds like that might be it.
