Poly to epcot (coral reef)

How long reasonably would that take? We are staying at the poly and wanted to have a more low key evening and thought we could just walk over to the TTC and it would be relatively easy to get to the coral reef restaurant.

I used a transportation wizard and it said 39 min. Really?!? Is that if I missed a monorail and had to wait? How long is it usually from the TTC to Epcot?

Depends on how you want to go. There's Uber, Minnie Van, Bus, Monorail.

If you just miss a bus, it's gonna be a few minutes til the next one comes around, same for the monorail. Once the monorail takes off though, you're not subject to the traffic delays a bus, Uber, MV is subject to (for the most part). However, if you take the MV or Uber, that's going to cost you as well as you could get caught up in traffic (just like on a bus, which is free anyway).

At any point on a Disney vacation, taking any transportation that you're not driving yourself would be low-key to me. Just give yourself plenty of time like @Alesia said. There's nothing wrong with wandering around Epcot if you're a little early.

From TTC departure to Epcot arrival, the monorail is a 10 minute journey.

Transportation wizard isn't always accurate. Plan on it taking over an hour. It could be this way....walk to the TTC, 10 mins. Wait for Epcot line...10 mins. Ride to Epcot...10 mins. Enter park...10 mins. Walk to Coral Reef....10 mins. So, 40 mins. Or, you could just miss the monorail, and have to wait 20 mins. There could bee a stoppage along the line (happens all the time) so add another 5-10 mins for that to clear. Heavy back up at bag check or going through the tapstiles? Another 5-10 mins.
Always plan for at least a third longer than you think you'll need, maybe even 50% more time.

Did want to emphasize the no bus part as well. There is no bus from Poly to Epcot when the monorail is running. They only run a bus when the monorail is not operating.
