I have been beating myself up on what to do, so I’m gonna ask for help, any advice is appreciated :)

We are planning a trip in Feb for 6 nights. Currently I am booked for A poly studio but I’m debating if I’m better off going with that or a one bedroom at boardwalk. Poly was always my wife and I favorite hotel but haven’t stayed since our son was born because we wanted full kitchen.

Our son loves pools and water slides, went down the one at GF at least 50 times last trip. Though I’m a little worried it will be too cold in February.

We just got back from a local trip in a regular hotel room and the walls felt like they were closing in around me a bit the one day it rained, which has me second guessing the studio. Kitchen is not as important like it was, but space may be.

We do MK and Epcot mainly, those are the parks he enjoys the most. Originally I felt like poly was best with monorail to Mk and we could walk to ticket and transportation for the epcot monorail instead of transferring .

I would have to rent about 90 points to book a boardwalk one bedroom. Thank you for any advice you may have

The PVB Studios are the largest studios at WDW at approx. 465 square feet which is around 250 sq feet smaller than a BWV 1-bedroom (712 sq ft).

If you want a washer/dryer in room and a separate sleeping space for your kid then go for the 1bed BWV. Otherwise, the Poly studios are quite large and it is nice to be able to walk to the TTC for MK and Epcot. I've done both room types and I like them for different reasons; so I usually do a split stay between the 2. Not sure if my reply is really helpful at all. :D

I have not stayed at Poly yet, but the Boardwalk 1-bedroom is decent. I didn't find it exciting, but the LOCATION is fabulous. We love that general area because walking to 2 parks (or taking boat) is amazing. In our experience, the monorail goes down a lot, but that is incredibly variable.

The poly also has that bathroom split so that is very attractive and being so close to MK and other nice resorts is a plus.

Poly. Large studios with two bathrooms, awesome splash pad for the kids, fireworks from the pool, and theming. While the ability to walk from boardwalk into Epcot is nice, the ability to monorail to both is better in my opinion. I have a young son that likes to wonder, he needs to sleep in the same room as me as opposed to the living room area.

That’s a tough one. I love the extra space and convenience of a 1BR. I guess the main question is will you utilize the kitchen and washer/dryer? If not, I would go Poly. I prefer the QS options at Poly. BWV doesn’t have a lot of QS food options. Hopefully that will change when the new sandwich shop opens.

When we stay in a 1 bedroom we do use both the kitchen and the washer/dryer but typically we do a 10 night stay so I feel like for a shorter stay we may be ok without.

From reading replies I feel a little bit better about my indecision lol

This was pretty much my exact same thoughts originally when I booked poly. Just got cold feet from my recent hotel but I keep telling myself Disney is also very different than a small hotel in a small lake area vacation spot.

Also not sure if anyone knows answer to this but I was able to DoorDash to GFV so I assume I can for poly? I was not able to DoorDash to beach club which I’m guessing will be same at boardwalk?

You should be able to DoorDash at any resort and just meet the delivery person in the lobby.

The pool and food are better at Poly imo. But the location of Boardwalk is better. I’d go with Poly personally, unless you want that kitchen and washer/dryer.

I think it is pretty warm in February, but I live in Canada and we use the pools at WDW in December so my perspective might be a little more frozen :)

DoorDash will meet you at the lobby, they only deliver to your door at SSR and OKW (in my experience).

My DoorDash said there were no delivery offerings for my location when I was at beach club. I just changed my location to beach club now to check again and got the same message.

Has anyone DoorDashed to that area?

The Poly rooms are beautiful ! The boardwalk is dated . The Poly has delicious food choices and lush beautiful grounds and pools . It’s no question to me. Monorail to MK and Epcot , boat to MK , access to the monorail resorts and restaurants is priceless.

Split it and do 3/3. Then you have laundry for the end of the trip.
I brought that idea up to my wife, We do a lot of split stays on our longer trips. She seemed hesitant for this one because it’s a shorter trip and the last split didn’t go so smooth for us.

Can't recall if I used doordash but while at BWV in late 2020 we pretty much lived off Uber eats so yes you can get delivery there.

As for the question these are my 2 wdw home resorts, they're both great. I'd opt for Poly. Getting to MK is a royal pain from BWV (i drive rather than take the bus, so drive plus monorail or ferry). MK and epcot are a breeze from Poly, one monorail to either (use ttc). I'm guessing your split will be something along the lines of 2 days mk/epcot, 1 day ak/hs if you even do that much as you may take a resort day. That means no more than 2 days of driving/buses with no extra steps versus 3 days with a couple monorails if you're driving. Add in better pools and dining at poly imo and i think it's a winner.

We did a split stay at Poly and BWV in Feb this year. We did 2 studios and then a 2BR. We have 2 girls under 4 and my parents were with us. We went for 7 days. The Poly was alright. It was cool and rainy the 2 days we were at the Poly so no pool. Being close to the TTC was nice for Epcot but it is not the same as being able to walk to Epcot from BWV. I guess since it rained on our trip I was not a fan of having to walk in the rain to get to our room compared to BWV.

For us the extra space a 1BR offered allowed the girls more room to run. Also, we washed our clothes the day before we went home so that was nice. I personally prefer the BWV location. If the girls fall asleep at any park other than AKL we can make it back to the room without having to wake them.

We stayed once at Poly and hated it. The transportation gate was right there and everyone was crashing the resort, monorail, and worse… the pool. Stayed several times at BWV and the nightlife acts, Boardwalk restaurants, Jellyrolls, short walk to Beaches and Cream, Walking distance to Epcot and HS, etc. You can even hop on the skyliner with a short walk to the Epcot International gate.

I like both, but with a younger child - I would lean poly for the MK access and the better counter service.

We like to call Poly "Grand Central Station".. It's just far too busy. And the Monorail is overrated "Drops Mic.. Runs.."

Since you're OK with renting some more points, and you seem preferential to the Poly, just upgrade to a Bungalow. Eazy, peazy.
