Poly Studio just fabulous, even with puddles

DS and I just returned from a split stay during holiday week (Kidani/Poly/Beach). Hands down the Poly water view studio was the best studio in our view!! Spacious, great bthrms, island theming, AND a castle view? WOW!!! Murphy bed was adorable, and my slender 5'10 son insisted on sleeping there (and was comfortable). We had rain and more drizzle, so there were not only puddles on the walkways to Moorea, but ducks in one of those puddles! 😆 Yes, place is slightly spread out, but the views, theming, location, flora, cast, and overall quality and cleanliness made up for it! We will be back, and only sorry we don't own there....yet.

I own at Poly and we normally request Tokelau. Since we hosted a guest we splurged for a Lake view. I made sure to request the 3rd floor for the best un-obstructed view and well, I'm not sure I can go back to a standard view! (exaggerating obviously). It was spectacular to lay in bed and see the castle while watching the Mickey shorts. The flip side to being "far" from the GCH is the proximity to TTC. The "views, theming, location, flora" are all such important touches to me, it really is a major reason why we bought there! Glad you had a blast!

Thank you for the review! My DH and I are staying there for 3 nights in June, then switching to a 1 bedroom at the Riviera. We can’t wait to try it! 😊
We went via Skyliner to visit Riviera, and it's gorgeous! Skyliner from International Gateway at EPCOT was easy, fun, grand, and quick! Riviera is so lovely in public areas, I can only imagine how pretty the rooms are! Have a wonderful trip

My first stay at the Polynesian was a lake view studio about five years ago. Every single time I came back into the room I gasped at the view.

Like I had amnesia!

Is std view worth the splurge? Its alot of points and I am stuck having to move my dates from March to april. Poly was open for std view just not sure its worth the amount of points. Are the std views meh?

The views are all over the place. Because standard includes the back of Moorea, all of Pago Pago and all of Tokelau.

So you can have greenery, parking lot views (but it's Disney - ie. nicer ones and the monorail goes by that area), pool views and few rooms at the front end of Tokelau that have a side lake view, even though they are standard rooms.

Personally I think a Polynesian vacation is always worth the points.

thank you! Long story short, we were booked for BLT STD for March and had to move our trip to April 3-9 and lost BLT, we dont have tons of points we own a small contract that we stretch for our annual trip. I can pick from OKW ( booked) SSR, or POLY std. I have waitlisted BLT Lake view. Just not sure if the std View at Poly was worth the splurge to us of 178 points gulp! what ever we dont use we always bank over to the next year. Will note what to request if we go with POLY

Momtwoboys,

I detest dark hotel rooms. So if you are someone who likes more light I would request Tokelau, pool view, top floor - if you decide to book it.

I have been in one of those Tokelau standard side "lake view" suites. They are a fabulous get, but the chances are slim.

You will feel the extra width in the Polynesian studio, if you have not stayed there before. It will seem like a mansion compared to a Bay Lake tower studio. Insert smile.

But I do love that kitchenette being tucked away over at Bay Lake Tower.

Even with a small contract, to me, the Polynesian is worth the points. Takes you away. Easy access to MK (three choices really) and people forget how close it is to the Epcot monorail.

------------

Just returned from SSR. Have you ever stayed in The Grandstand section over there? If not, look at a SSR map. That first Grandstand building is two seconds to the main building, sits right at a pool and mere minutes to the Downtown Disney boat. And has some lovely views of the golf course and the waterway, with boats going by.

I love Poly!!! We stayed in a 2 bedroom at OKW for a week then moved to Poly for two nights 1 night points 1 night cash because I didn’t want to borrow too many points. I can’t say how amazing the Poly is. As someone else stated you feel like your are on a separate vacation because it is so amazing there.

Stayed in Poly studio last summer for the first time with four adults and we loved it. In fact, we're going back this summer for a split stay and staying there again to start the trip. The two bathrooms really makes it more doable for four people. Poly is a really nice resort as far as the surroundings, and pool area, and easy access to parks.

I just had my offer accepted on a Poly contract and I couldn't be more pumped!!! In all the videos my wife and I watched before we made the offer, the murphy bed doesn't look big enough for teens or adults, but this is great to hear as I have a boy and a girl who will eventually be a man and a woman traveling with us! I saw one recommendation to request Tokelau, what are some other recommendations? I know some people have gotten standard rooms that have actually had lake views. Are there any other suggestions anyone would have for requesting specific buildings or even specific rooms? Thanks!
