Poly-Samoa....non smoking or smoking?

I really think we'd like Samoa as a first request option for our September trip and with any luck, a view of the Volcano Pool for the kids. I expect it to be noisy, yet I still think this would be a cool location-we're going with a garden view reservation. However, I'm getting conflicting info on the smoking issue. A couple of us are allergic, so before I set up our reservation, I figured I'd ask you guys first.

Samoa used to have a smking section prior to the rehab. Since it was rehabbed in 2003, it has been switched to a complete non-smoking building.

We stayed in Samoa over Christmas and I too thought it would be noisy but we never saw another family there the entire week, lol. There had to be people because we saw the CM's entering other rooms to clean but it was that quiet! We didn't notice any mildew, mold, or smoke smell at all. We requested 3rd floor for a balcony and we overlooked the quiet pool. Here's the view from our balcony:

Thanks for the insight-we really appreciate it. Carla, that picture is awesome! We're debating between 1st and 3rd floors. I honestly thought it would be one of the noisiest longhouses, but I guess I'm wrong. My DH and I stayed in Tokelau #1914 in '03 and it was one of the garden view rooms that had the lagoon view. Incredible views for the money. This time we thought we'd go for something the kids would want to look at. They've only visited the resort before and will have no idea that we're going there until the day we arrive.
