Poly Run Down?

We were there in August and I wouldn't say that it was run down at all. Was it as meticulously clean as I expected? NO, not by a long shot but it did not look like it needed to be painted or the furniture replaced. And I really found the spray that they use in the hallways to be disgusting, the smell was cloying and it was as if they were trying to mask the musty mildew smell that can be expected with older dwellings especially near water.

We stay at the Poly every summer and we love it. The only time we ever encountered any type of problem is while they were refurbishing the concierge building and then they did everything they could to fix it for us and to make everything right. The rooms are beautiful now that it's all completed. And even with the platform work going on while there this past August I still could'nt say that even looked rundown or worn. They did a great job of concealing it as much as possible.

I thought the Poly was wonderful and in beautiful condition!! Not run down AT ALL!!! On the other hand, we stayed at BWI last Oct., a MUCH newer resort, and that was DEFINITELY run down - water leakage stain on one of the walls, one of the sinks leaked and dripped onto the carpet, the carpets in the hallways were worn. I would definitely stay at Poly over BWI again because of this issue alone.

Just got back from the Poly all of 4 hours ago & it looked great. A little work going on at the entrance & I think maybe in the Niue building but that was it.

We stayed there in 2002 and I also noticed that musty mildew smell. Everything else was GREAT, I just could not stand that smell! Hopefully with all of the rennovations it will get better.
