Poly resale question

Sorry - this has likely been discussed but I wasn’t able to locate an answer. We are looking to add on, we already have a grandfathered resale contract with full benefits that we will use for our Disneyland trips in the new tower, but want some more WDW points and the new Poly tower is appealing now that our vacation patterns are changing (as we no longer have young kids). If we bought poly resale would we be able to use them in the new tower? I understand we wouldn’t be able to use them at any other new resorts etc, but not sure how this works at the poly. Thanks!

Yes, resale is good at Poly tower since it’s the same association as the existing Poly resort.

Just out of curiosity when you say grandfathered, does that mean it has direct benefits? (blue card)

Where points can be used is different than membership extras, blue card or DVC Y.

Any resale points bought prior to January 2019 are valid for use everywhere. Resale contracts bought after 2016 don’t count for membership extras.

DVC Y or membership extras is attached to the membership and not a specific contract. The membership just has to hold contracts that meet that qualification.

For examples I own a 300 point SSR contract I bought in 2017. When it was the only thing I had in my Aug UY, that membership was not blue card. But those points can still be used everywhere because I acquired them before 2019.

If you buy Poly resale, you should be able to use those points for the new tower since it’s still part of the Poly.

Yes we have Blue Card benefits
