Yeah! Finally returning after 2 years. We are traveling with a 7 & 3 yr old and love being on the mono line. LOOOOOVED the Poly, but can save several $$$$ if we stay at the Contemp, which we never have.

Any opinions?

The Contemporary, while not as warm or inviting as the Polynesian, offers most of the same amenities. It has a bustling, energetic, big-city vibe I've seen only in the Dolphin, but since it was one of the first resorts built at Disney, it has a timelessness - - which is why so many people feel "nostalgic" when they visit.

Ther eare two views available. The most popular (and most expensive) are Tower rooms, facing either the MK or Bay Lake. It's nice to see the fireworks from your balcony, but watching the sun rise on Bay Lake is equally stunning - and you can see the Electrical Water Pageant too.

The Garden views offered in the two adjacent wings range from the lackluster (parking lot views) to the fantastic (views of Bay Lake). In fact, if you book a first-floor Garden Wing room, you'll have your own private beach looking out onto Bay Lake. It's wonderful to drink your coffee int he morning on the patio, watching the ducks and boats from Ft Wilderness on the lake. For the money you're paying it's the most underrated view in all WDW.

The rooms, by the way, in both the Tower and Garden are the biggest on Disney property.

Only the YC/BC and Grand Floridian have as many great on-site restaurants as the Contemporary (California Grille, Chef Mickey's).

Transportation options are as good as the Poly's. You can walk to the MK. A boat launch can take you to Ft Wilderness or Wilderness Lodge.

I hope that helps! :teeth:

I'd have to choose the Polynesian between the two, but really prefer the Wilderness Lodge. Although you are not right on the monorail, there is a boat to the Magic Kingdom and to the Contemporary. It's a beautiful resort and is the cheapest of the deluxe resorts.

We stayed at the Contemporary on our trip last March! Mainly because my husband wanted to and because we have stayed at most of the other Deluxes(some several times)! I was not that thrilled with the idea though! You really don't hear as much rave reviews on the Contemporary. But, I can honestly say now that I loved it! We stayed in a tower room (7th floor). I had requested a castle view and I got it! The view was spectacular! We could lie in bed at night and watch the castle change colors. We also had a great view of the GF and Poly. You could also watch the monorail running and there were these lighted, twinkling trees below our balcony that were real pretty at night! The decor was not as bad as pictures make it seem. Once you get there it kinda fits! Also, we loved being able to walk to the MK! And, we also loved eating at Chef Mickeys and the shopping there was great! Our room was in great shape and was kept very clean all week! My ds 6yo loved it also! But, we all looooove the Poly too! Happy planning!:Pinkbounc pirate: :Pinkbounc
