I am torn between staying at the Poly or the CBR. We have stayed at the CBR and loved the food court, pools and the atmosphere. Last May we went to the Wilderness Lodge and were very disappointed. The pool was SMALL and very crowded. It was very quiet. We like the tropical theme with reggae music playing. So we are little skeptical to spend the extra money for the Poly. Can anyone give me some insight on the pool situation? Also, is it worth the extra $$$?

Thanks.:bounce: :bounce:

I've stayed at both and we LOVE the Poly!! The pool is far better at the Poly than the CBR pool. There is no food court, but there is Captain Cook's which is a small place that has lots to chose from for breakfast/snacks.....much like the small place at Wilderness lodge but with more seating. Also there are two other good restaurants at the Poly and a lounge with tropical drinks! They pipe Polynesian music around the resort during the day...it's very tranquil. The overall best thing about the Poly which is worth the extra money,IMO, is the monorail access to the MK and EPCOT as well as GF and Contemporary (for more restaurants). Give it a try!!!

We can't afford the Poly but our family loves CBR. We have stayed there many times.

Is the Poly pool small? We are going in July and the pool is definitely important since I have a 8-year old and 22 month old.

last itme in 2000 there were 2 pools... a kids and another quieter pool that my older kids enjoyed for just swimming....

they now have an awesome volcano pool with slide for kids.....

I've stayed at CBR and loved it and the price is right!! I've never stayed at Poly but have always wanted to but the price was a little high for us for 8 nights so I decided to split our stay with 4 nights at each resort. That way we get to experience the deluxe resort and still save some money and since we've stayed at CBR already I'll know what to expect and not be disappointed.

We have stayed at both the Poly. and the CBR and I would say go to the CBR because the deluxe just costs more. You get much better bus service at the moderates than the deloxe. The Poly was beautiful but I don't know that I would spend the extra money again just to be convenient to the monorail. I liked the food court at the CBR. The Poly does have food choices, but not as many inexpensive choices as CBR. The tropical theme at the Poly is very nice and their pool is good for the kids, but I would not say that it is any bigger than the CBR. Poly does have a nice water slide. It has been 10 years since we stayed at the CBR. I don't think you can go wrong whatever decision you make. I just don't think a deluxe is worth the difference in price.
