When we were there the kid's table featured the uncrustable pb&j's, fruit and assorted candies in buckets with shovels for the kids to scoop out. Also, the delicious cookies were out on the kid's table. Only one night did we see any other type of sandwich besides the pb&j.
On "Italian" night, we didn't have lasagna, but did have a large bowl of spaghetti (plain) with two types of sauce to ladle over - a plain tomato sauce and the tomato sauce with meatballs. There was also a bowl of ziti with sauce already on it. I believe that night also featured a regular garden salad. I wouldn't derive my budget by planning on making meals out of the food in the evening. You can never plan on what they will have on the any given night. On a few nights, we were pleasantly surprised and the kids were able to make a meal out of the appetizers. But on nights like Sushi night, we definitely went out to dinner. The nice thing that we found with the lounge is that we could have our "big" meal late afternoon (2-3) when the prices are cheaper and the restaurants cool and then use the lounge for a light snack.
I never saw bacon. The breakfast is a cold continental type of breakfast. Ie: muffins & such, bagels, cereal, fruit and one vat of hot oatmeal.
As for pizza, you can pick up a small individual sized pizza (cheese, pepperoni and supreme) in the cafe. About the size of a Pizza Hut personal pan pizza. If I remember correctly, the price was high, but not outrageous - around $3.50 - $4.00 for the pizza. We picked up drinks in the concierge lounge, so it made for a relatively inexpensive meal. My kids had a few of these for lunch by the pool. The convenience of just picking one up may be worth it rather than trying to find a microwave.
As for 'is it worth it'? We were totally spoiled. We will never stay anywhere else. The convenience of the breakfast is worth the extra money for our family. One of us would go down to the lounge, fill a tray with cereal and bagels and bring it back to the room so that we could get ready and eat at the same time. The kids were always anxious to get to the parks and stopping to eat at a restaurant was not a part of their plans
