hi.

i'm hoping someone can give me some suggestions for a 1st floor, garden view room at the poly for this coming week (!!)

i really like the idea of a view from a higher floor (i've seen some great suggestions, and love tikiman's pictures), but we've got 3 little ones in pack-n-plays going to bed EARLY, so we're thinking the 1st floor patio is our best bet for some space and freedom after their bedtime . i like the idea of one of us being able to walk off the patio over to the pool bar for a drink, or down to the water to see fireworks, or over to the ceremonial house for a snack. i originally requested the tokelau bldg., but now that i'm over the idea of having a view of the water, should i request something a bit more central (samoa?). i don't necessarily want a pool-side room on the volcano pool, but what about the quiet pool?

thanks so much for any thoughts or suggestions.

I think Tokelau is a great choice for you and I would just leave it at that.

The rooms in the three newer buildings are a little larger and with 3 pack n plays, that would come in handy I think.

But I truly think all the buildings have advantages. Everyone seems to think the one they stayed in was the best. ;)

Have a magical stay! :wizard:

thanks for the thoughts....it is so easy to second guess yourself when you have access to ALL of this info and all of you disser's wonderful insights...

i hadn't considered the extra space for the pack-n-plays...you made an excellent point. when we were in a FW cabin last nov., mousekeeping took out the bed in the bedroom before we got there, so i had planned to put in a call to the poly to arrange something similar this week..it would be so much easier if we didn't have to move too much furniture (we all fit in our AKL room last trip...it was a tight fit, but it worked!)

take care,

wow, triplets! :earsboy: :earsboy: :earsboy: that is so great to be able to take them to Disney, again! I couldn't even imagine the logistics, I give you alot of credit and wish you well.

Do the resorts let you have 3 pac n plays? I wouldn't think they would give you any grief at all but I had never thought of what you would do if you needed more than one, so it made me curious. ok nosey.

We went to Poly 2 stays ago and the balcony we had was wonderful for the extra space to relax while the little one was asleep. You have the right idea! Have a GREAT time.

I would also stick with Tokelau. The volcano pool can get very noisy, so if you are going in and out to the patio alot, it might make it difficult to keep the little ones asleep when they hear all the frivolity.

I think that is a great longhouse.

I did the same thing the last time we went, 1st floor request.

It was wonderful since we let our dd nap & we were able to sit outside with out opening the main door & risking it slam shut & wake her up.

We requested a bottom floor again this time too.

We took turns leaving the room while one of us sat outside & it worked out great.

Just wanted to add that I'm not sure if the Polynesian uses pack n plays (this should have occurred to me yesterday). Our youngest is 19 but in the old days, small wooden cribs were used. I know the Polynesian still uses them as I see them in the hallways sometimes. Not sure if pack n plays are an option too.

I know triplets are often smaller in their early years but at two will they still be comfortable in pack n plays or small cribs?

If you fit all three pack n plays in one room at AKL, you will be fine at the Polynesian! ;) I would think two would fit between the armoire and closet and another one along the wall by the table. I doubt any furniture would need to be removed.

Have a wonderful trip! :wizard:

I would definitely keep Tokelau. We stayed in a first floor garden view room in Oct and it was great. If we went out on the patio we could see some of the lagoon and the Contemporary. My youngest DD was amused by the ducks that would come up to the window.

all of your comments have been so encouraging and helpful! thank you so much! such great info. and suggestions!!

to answer your questions, yes, they'll give us 3 pack-n-plays (but when the Cm was originally putting our info. in the computer last year for our 1st trip, there was some confusion about the fact that the computer wouldn't allow her to enter data for 3 infants..hehehe!), and yes, these days, it's a VERY tight fit for them in the standard pack-n-plays ( we were blessed to have 3 very healthy preemies, so they're all around 50th percentile for height and weight). we will be bringing 3 EXTRA pack-n-plays that are bigger than the standard size (2 are square and 1 is an extra 3 or 4 inches long), so if they can't get comfortable in what is provided, we'll try to squeeze the bigger ones into the room!

thanks again, i am SO excited to go! the kids have been bouncing off the walls these last 2 days (my son keeps asking if he can put his shoes and socks so he can leave for disney world!)
