Poly experts what would you do?!

Have been reading these boards for some time now but finally decided to register to ask some questions of my own.

This is our first stay at the Poly and I'm very excited!
I have a lagoon view room already booked. I will be there in august with my DH, DS-12, and DD-8.
We probably will be spending the time we are at the resort between the pool and restaurants.

My question is would I be better off re-booking a garden view room and requesting a longhouse closer to the action? Do I keep my lagoon view requesting Tahiti(we aren't doing concierge) because it is closer to the TTC?

I have read that it's a little bit of a walk from Tahiti to the GCH and Volcano pool but is it really that far?

I appreciate any opinions/suggestions.

I'd keep your current reservation...

The walk around the property really isn't THAT far, and being close to the TTC is very nice!

Tahiti has a very quiet, tranquil feel. I think you'll like it!

We've had both types of rooms at the Poly. The trek from the monorail station / lobby back to our lagoon-view room at the end of a long day was a chore, but once you open that patio door and take in the view across the lagoon to the MK (if you should be so lucky), it all seems worthwhile.

Since everyone has a different perception on distance and also don’t usually remember accurately I video taped a walk around the Polynesian. I timed how long it took to walk from place to place at a normal pace and even stopping to look at things. To go from Tahiti to the GCH would take you less than 4 minutes. Do you consider that far? A walk from one end of the Polynesian to the other is less than 6 minutes.

Thank you all for your advice. I think we will keep our current reservations and enjoy the view!

We will use the walk as part of the enjoyment of this beautiful resort.
