I've noticed several posts on people looking to contact the concierge staff, since they have not rec'd any form of communication from the Poly- has anyone rec'd any communication from the Poly regarding their upcoming stay? I know that this was one of the reasons why I paid more for my trip, and to not receive it makes me feel like I am paying for services that I am not getting. Anyone else feels this way?

Depending on how you did your reservations, like through a travel agent, the Polynesian may not have ever gotten your address to send you the information. Most travel agents do not give them your information or their systems do not interface with the Polynesian’s very well. You can email them any time if you are staying concierge.

Hi,

We booked our late August trip for Poly GV Conc. on May 14 of this year. One week later I recieved a phone call from the Poly. Conc. to talk about our upcoming plans. I hadn't really thought about much yet. I gave her my e-mail address and she sent me a form to fill out and send back about dining, activities and special occasions that week. I was surprised to hear from them so quickly! I am usually so prepared, but the Fairytale package caught us off guard! I was planning on worrying about the details when the kids got out of school.

I also booked a Fairy Tale Package through WDTC. I rec'd my packet with the voucher and luggage tags- we are arriving the first week in July- although I will be very flexible with PS - I wanted to do something special for my husband for our anniversary and his birthday and thought concierge could help me. And yes I can call them or email them- but again, these are services that I was told I would be receiving and if I have to reach out to them first- just kind of takes the fun of having concierge services.

Other than receiving the parsonal itinerary paperwork they don't usually call. I have never been called in all the years I have stayed there but there is nothing that can not be done through email that you do with the filled out itinerary. Infact it goes to the same people. Even the WDTC has issues with their system and the Polynesian's at times. If they do not get your address from them they can not mail anything out. Also you may still get it in the mail.

I know I don't pay the extra so I get the paperwork that I never use anyway. I have everything arranged through email.

Aloha

You know Tikiman- you take all the fun out of this - LOL!! Its my first time ever staying concierge, and yes I want it all - even the form that they said they would send. I guess if I stayed concierge all the time it wouldn't matter- I probably would just toss it and would shoot them an email with my list of things that needed to be done. But Disney makes me feel like a kid, and you know how kids are- they want what they were told they would get..................I don't want you to think that the only reason I paid for concierge was for the peice of paper- speaking in Disney's lingo- I paid for the whole show and I guess I wanted my playbill before the curtain comes up on the stage and the actors start. :p

Well I can understand that. I just want to make sure if you do not get it you will not let it start your experience off on the wrong foot because you have so much to look forward to besides the itinerary. I just know that sometimes they don’t make it to the house.

Have a great trip.

Aloha

I have received both U.S. Mail and Email from BC and YC concierge on recent stays(past 3 months). I just booked Poly Concierge for mid june and am waiting to see what responce I get.

When we stayed at Poly concierge we never heard from them at all - even after I mailed 3 seperate itinerary forms. Each time I mailed one I would wait a couple of weeks and then contact them again to see if they received it. Each time they said that they had received it, but that was it. When we arrived we did not receive any type of itinerary at all. When we showed up for the PS's that I had requested they had no record of them (luckily it was only for 2 meals.) When I ask a member of the concierge staff a question about something that was going on at MGM I was given a phone # and told to call them myself. We did not get the floor we requested either. I love Disney - but will NEVER stay at the Poly again, especially concierge! I hope you have better luck and a magical trip.

I booked a concierge level room at the Poly back April for our June 28th arrival. Got my Disney conformation in the mail a few days later, then I get a letter from the Poly I was very excited..thinking it was my personal itinerary forms....NOT..It was a very nice letter explaining to me that the Concierge was moving over to the Tahiti building during my stay, due to the renovations going on in the Hawaii building. I hadn't gotten any other mail from them, so I emailed the address above asking a few questions...Here's part of my email and the answer I got:

Hi, We will be arriving at the Polynesian Resort on Saturday, June 28th for a one night stay. We received a notice (letter in the mail) that the Concierge services will be located in the Tahiti building at that time, but I was under the understanding that we would also be receiving some type of itinerary planning papers in the mail also, but we have yet to receive them. Should I be worried? Do I need these papers before we arrive? I have also requested a garden view, ground floor room if at all possible. Could you also let me know where the smoking rooms are located in that longhouse and if we will be receiving any "special papers" soon.

The response:
Aloha,
Thank you for your email. We are so happy that you have chosen Disney's Polynesian Resort for your vacation destination. The smoking rooms in our Tahiti building are located on the first floor.
At this time you will not need any confirmation papers, upon arrival at the Resort. Please let the Valet know that you are checking into the concierge. At that time a bellman will escort you and your family to the concierge building for private check in.
Please let me know if you have any questions or need any further assistance.

So still no personal Itin. papers...but that's okay...I never rec'd anything when I did Beach Club Concierge last October either!! But I'm not going to let it ruin my vacations!!!...Someday my dreams will come true and I'll get one!!

Our trip to thr Poly is in July. I have not gotten anything in the mail,so I just e-mailed them to request specific things! I had already made the ps's I wanted before we up-graded.

We are staying at the Polynesian Lagoon View Conceirge in July. We did get the paper itinnerary in the mail but I have also spoken with the Concierge and emailed them because we are trying to set up a vow renewal. I booked my vacation through CRO and I dont know if that makes a difference. I do know that WDWTC and Travel Agents do have a problem interfacing with the Polynesian computers so they just might not have your address if you went through either of those to set up your vacation.

We are scheduled to be at Poly LVC for 7 nights at the end of July. I have received both email and regular mail from the Concierge staff, as well as a follow-up phone call.

We made our reservations with MouseEarVacations.com and didn't have any problem with Concierge getting in touch with us. MEV has been a great experice too. I would book through them again in a minute.

This will be our second time at Poly LVC, last yearing being a free upgrade which got us hooked. This year we are able to go using the new discount pay 4 nights for a 7-night stay.

I'm a little curious/concerned about not being in the Hawaii building, so if anyone has experienced Concierge in the Tahiti I would appreciate any feedback.

I know you're talking about the Poynesian, but are these planning papers standard for concierge at all the deluxe resorts (we're staying at Boardwalk, Polynesian wasn't available :( ) or is it just at the Polynesian?
