I have a room at the Poly on hold for this June. It's club level Garden View. Does anyone have any opinions about these rooms? Right now I would be paying full price but am hoping to be able to appy a discount in the future (I have an AP). Do they include club level rooms in AP or other discounts generally? How is the view from the GV rooms (It would be in the Hawaii building, right?) or is it worth it to upgrade to the Lagoon View?
Thanks!!!

third floor. Personally I wouldn't pay more for a particular view since you can always see the castle from the lounge. Also Hawaii is right on the beach so it is just five step from the beach and pool. We were in room 3529 and our balcony looked to the quiet pool. The view was pleasaant. I believe there is another club level longhouse there but I have no experience there. I am sure you will love the Poly!

We did the garden view club level and LOVED staying in Hawaii. The lounge was great and Hawaii is a great location.

There's a great view of the castle from the lounge. Club level was expensive enough so we skipped the lagoon view.

We stayed GV club level xmas 06 and loved it. We were on third floor and had a nice porch that overlooked the quiet pool. I agree that the lounge offers a great view of MK and Wishes(while you enjoy the great dessert service)and they pipe in the music also. The beach is right outside the Hawaii building. We though all the food offerings were wonderful. I would not spend the extra money for lagoon view. Have a great time. We thought the CM were wonderful! The resort is beautiful at night when they had lighted the torches.

We have 2 rooms booked on the club level at the Polynesian for this May. DH and I in one room, our aunt in another room. DH and I chose the lagoon view, while DAunt chose garden.

We have AAA, so when I booked, I asked about AAA discounts for both rooms. Surprisingly, ONLY the lagoon view (club level) room had the discount available, NOT the garden (club level) view. So even though initially the price difference per night was $125, with us having the AAA discount, the price difference is now only $58 per night.

If you AAA, and if there are still discounts available, that might help you out considerably while waiting for the AP discounts to come out.

Also, there definitely have been AP discounts for club level rooms in the past; we're also AP holders, so I'm hoping for an AP discount as well :)

In regards to your question if it's "worth it" to upgrade to lagoon view, only you can answer that, but my DH feels that since we're already paying a lot for the room anyway, not why add a little more for the view since we really do enjoy the view from those rooms and take the time to sit out there each morning, often times midday, and every single night. All night long the castle changes color, so we leave our drapes open so we can see it from bed. Ahh....I can't wait to be back there! LOL

Thanks for your information!
A few more questions...
How much of a discount is the Ap usually and when should I expect it to come out for a June trip?
Do all rooms have a sofa bed/day bed?
Are all Poly rooms recently renovated?
Should I request a certain room location (third floor, for instance)?

Thanks so much!!!!!!!!!

1) AFAIK the AP rate can vary from something like 10% to 30-40%. It all depends on time of year, resort, and probably other factors.

2) All of the rooms have the sofa that folds down into a bed. It's a lot more comfortable than the standard "sleeper sofa" type bed (no bar across yoru back!).

3) The Poly just finished their refurbishment last year. They have all new decor, large flat-screen TV's, and DVD players in the concierge rooms.

4) Each floor has benefits. 1st floor gives you access directly to the beach/pool via your porch. 2nd floor gives you a raised view and puts you on the same level as the lounge. There are no balconies on the 2nd floor, but the door opens and there is a rail there. It's still great for watching fireworks or letting in a fresh breeze. The 3rd floor gives you a raised view and a balcony.
