Poly busses question

I know the Poly is very convenient for the monorail and MK, EPCOT.

But how is the transporation from/to Poly and MGM and AK? What time do the busses start running and how often do they come? After they pick up from Poly do they make other stops at other hotels before heading to these parks? I have heard a few horror stories about the bus tranportation from WL and thought that all monorail resorts shared a bus to MGM/AK.

What about the TTC? We could walk there, I'm sure, so how often do the busses come there and are there any stops other than at the specific park?

We're leaving next Friday and we were wondering. Also, do the CMs give you the real story about bus transp? Or do they just give a pat answer about the busses? In other words, would they suggest going to TTC if it's a straight shot to the parks?

Staying at the Poly gives you the advantage of having the monorail handy, but you also lose some transportation options. For example, there are no buses from the Poly to MK or Epcot. You are expected to take the monorail.

There are buses to AK, Studios and Downtown Disney. These buses also stop at WL and GF, with the Poly stop in the middle. So if you are going to Studios, you will have to stop first at GF. They start running to the parks about an hour before each park opens.

You don't gain much by walking to the TTC. There are direct buses there for AK, Studios and DD, but the walk to TTC takes as much time as the stop at GF.

CMs will always try to be helpful, but they are usually not very well informed about the transportation system. It's complicated.

We have stayed at both the Poly and the WL in the past 2 years and have NEVER had a complaint about the busses. They used to start about 1 hour before park opening.

The only advantage to using the TTC busses was what longhouse you stayed in at the Poly. If you are in Rapa Nui or Tahiti, the walk to the TTC is shorter than the walk to the GCH. Also, at the end of a long day when we were waiting for a resort bus, we just took whichever bus arrived first(TTC or Poly.)

The few times we took the buses to the parks from the Poly, they were crowded to the point of people standing. One afternoon on the way back from AK we even stopped at a waterpark and even though the bus could not hold any more people it still made all of its stops. After Fantasmic it is a nightmare getting back to the resort unless you hang back and wait a while. Wound up using the car after the first 2 days last year and will definately use it this year.

LAWalz23, What time of year did you go?

We're leaving this FRIDAY and will be there Sunday through next Friday (2/10-2/15), so hopefully it won't be a problem. Although we will have our vehicle if necessary.

We were there May 14-21st last year and we did not think the parks were as crowded. Maybe it was just a bad week because we even hit monorail traffic a few times.
