Poly Bungalows?

Don't know if it's still an issue but they installed a window AC unit due to HVAC issues with the bungalows being too warm. The septic system also has been reported as making loud noises.

Have you done a search? I have read several reviews here and some also had photos.

Denise

Yes I did a search, but didn't see many recent threads, comments or pictures.
I did see some from guests that stayed early on when there were issues with a/c units & plumbing.

They only have two real beds, one king and one queen. The other four sleeping spaces are fold out, one queen sleeper and two murphy beds. For the points charged, you should be able to get real beds.

Thank you for the info.
You make a good point.
I wonder why they didn't make them a little bigger, to have more beds?
I am looking to stay here for one night, just to try it.

Happy New Year!

Disney wants to make as much money as possible. Villas, no matter what they call them, have only gotten smaller since they built OKW. With Polynesian studios, they made them fit the existing spaces/windows.

And they keep raising the price per point. As long as people keep buying they'll keep reducing, raising the price, and making more and more money. I for one am done. I'm not buying any more points and I'm thinking seriously of selling some or all. The magic is disappearing.

The views are wonderful from the Bungalows, and we were more impressed with them than we thought we would be. We would consider staying in them again with our family. It was nice to watch the fireworks from the small deck or in the small splash pool. There were only two of us for 3 days so space was not an issue. We were there in late September, and it was very warm in the Bungalows during the day. We kept the fans on and the shades closed when we weren't in the room. The small window air conditioning unit was in the master bedroom which kept us comfortable at night, but did not cool off the rest of the bungalow. They claim they are using the small window units as a temporary fix until they can find a solution to the problem. The plumbing is very noisy. There is a big whoosh sound that seems to come from under the Bungalow.

Thanks for the review.

and there are people on here that think that's okay. Lower the points Disney, there not worth it with the problems they have.

If you have any specific questions or pictures you are looking for please let us know. They are very cool and obviously a great location, but not much space for the points. It's the smallest 2BR for the points of the highest 3BR. They basically just sleep 6 adults and that's with 2 on the pull-out as compared to the grand villas that have the space for 12 adults comfortably.

Its a timeshare, they are built to make money, and they do that rather well. I do think the Poly Studios work, and the size if I'm not mistaken are one of the larger sq ftg. I do think it was a mistake to scrap the 1 and 2 Bedroom Villa's.

The magic IMO is a symptom of the corporate world we live in. I don't think the level of magic is tied to point cost.

Price keeps going up, people keep buying, DVC is not going to lower points.

Ummm... have you read your signature tag? Aren't you saying the same thing there?

In order to lower the points per night for the bungalows, the points per night for the studios would have to go up to maintain the resort total vacation points. This is likely to tick off more members than the over priced bungalow. IMO DVD built twice as many bungalows as should have been built, spoiling the view for everyone not staying in the bungalows wrapping around Sunset Point.

I was able to tour them last Jan. They are indeed impressive. Gorgeous view. Loved looking across the lagoon to the castle from the wall of windows in the kitchen. Points are so high though. Maybe someday for a couple of nights.

Here my take on the points for Poly bungalows.
OCT 1st to the 6th check out ,5 nts. 120 pt a nt at poly 2 bedroom bungalow= 600 pts
Oct 1st to the 6th check out ,5 nts , 39 pts a nt for 2bedroom BWview = 195 pts

difference of 405 pts. I could stay another 9 nts added to my first 5 nts for a ( 14 nt total from OCT 1st to the 15 th checkout ) in a @ bedroom BWview with 34 pts left over from the 600 pts for Poly.
And the BWV comes with central air not a window unit for now.
