Is there any hope of getting a Poly Bungalow for NYE at the 7 month mark, or do you really have to own at Poly for that to happen?

We are planning a special "splurge" trip in a few years, and I would love a nice spot to watch the NYE fireworks without having to be in the parks (we've done the park at NYE before).

I suppose I should start a new thread for this, but what about BLT Grand Villa MK View, or BLT 2-Bedroom MK View? Are they totally gone at 7 months?

Actually, NYE, which is the highest single DVC demand night of the year, is one the few times of year that the bungalows have a real risk of being reserved before 7-months out. E,g,, about 8 months out for Dec 31, 2019, the bungalows were filled for Dec 31 but were still open for the rest of Christmas week at 7 months out.The BLT GV's and 2BRs, both lake and theme park view, have invariably disappeared before 7 months out for NYE. In fact, everything at BLT, Poly, and VGF is usually gone before 7-months out for NYE.

That is what I feared someone would say. Fingers crossed that maybe I will get lucky in 2022?

How about booking a Fireworks Cruise? I’ve done one at MK for December 30, for the NYE fireworks they have the night before. And twice I’ve done an Epcot Fireworks Cruise on December 31.

I’ve used the Disboards to get people to share the cruises with us. I

That's an excellent suggestion! I may look into that.

One thing I was trying to figure out is that we'll be traveling with our godson and his parents, and as he'll be 2-going-on-3 at the time, I was trying to see if we could book a room where we could watch the fireworks while he sleeps.

Just note that if you intend to be in WDW at a DVC resort for New Year's time in 2022 you should book your home resort if it is a WDW resort at 11-months out for that single night, and then later at 7 months out attempt a switch. The reason is because, for example, that all rooms at the WDW resorts were filled before 7 months out for Dec 31, 2019 except SSR 1BRs and 2BRs, and if you definitely want a room for that night, you will need the safety of a home resort reservation at 11-months out.

Thanks! That is definitely our plan, likely at CCV or BRV (we own at both).
