Poly building request

I just booked Poly for a few weeks from now in mid-July.

What building should I request for an updated room?

I also booked a standard room, so if there are suggestions for what I should request before I do online check in, that would be great.

We loved Samoa (which has been completed ). Samoa is convenient to everything (IMO) as it's just steps from the GCH, the volcano pool, the beach, and Captain Cooks. We are trying CL for the first time in December, but if we weren't doing that, I would definitely request Samoa again. Have a great trip and enjoy the Poly .

Because there's so much walking required at WDW, we try to limit it as much as possible by requestiing a long house as close to the bus line as possible.

Thanks everyone! It's a weekend trip to celebrate our anniversary, so we're only doing MK and Epcot, so the Samoa advice sounds perfect.

I cannot wait to go. I've wanted to stay there since I was a little girl. We've been to WDW many times, and we're currently living in FL for 6 months. We have long trips planned later in the year, but I finally decided that our anniversary was the perfect occasion for a visit. I'm sure the kids will love it too, and we'll be able to easily take them to the Neverland Club.

Can't wait!

You won't regret it......the Poly is an amazing resort. Have a great anniversary trip .

We were in Tokelau two weeks ago, standard room but were able to see Wishes and EWP from our balcony. 2nd floor has balconies too, while Samoa does not.

Perhaps Tahiti would work for you. It's the closest longhouse to the TTC and not a terrible walk from the boat launch. It is however a ways from the GCH. Very quiet and peaceful.

We were in Tokelau two weeks ago, standard room but were able to see Wishes and EWP from our balcony. 2nd floor has balconies too, while Samoa does not.

I would also recommend Tokelau...we have stayed their the last two trips, and the plan is to stay there for our upcoming trip in November.

I actually did a lot more reading on Tikiman's site today and I've decided Tokelau would be better for us, so I'm switching our request tomorrow.

Either way, I'm happy to finally be staying there at long last!

But at the Poly I would think since you have the resort monorail to the MK and the Epcot monorail from the TTC, being close to the bus stop wouldn't be too critical

Either way, I'm happy to finally be staying there at long last!

I would request pool side, as close to the beach as possible, if you would like to see fireworks from your balcony.

I did online check in for our visit two weeks ago, requested Samoa and Tokelau. We checked in at 6pm, they told us, oh we have you in a lovely refurbished room in Raratonga. I looked at the CM and said, is it overlooking the parking lot? Yep. I asked nicely if there was a room in Tokelau or Samoa and lo and behold, Tokelau was available. Same category, standard view, but what I had asked for. Why have requests if you make no effort to honor them? Glad I realized from here and Tikiman's site that Raratonga, while convenient to the GCH, had 50% parking lot views.

Thank you for posting your experience. We'll be there for our 1st visit checking in the end of next month. I did online check in as well & after reading many posts on other threads I've been concerned that I wouldn't be able to try to change if we are disappointed with our room. It's so helpful to hear how you handled this. We're hoping for Tokelau too .
