Poly and Contemporary questions

Hey everyone!!

Ok, just made ressies, for Poly Lagoon view and CR concierge. I have never stayed at either and need some help on what we must do, see, eat while we are staying there. What restaraunts are good at the poly? Character meals? Any specific room requests I should make? Refillable mugs? Really trying to get the most out of the resorts while we are there!! Cos they were so $$$$$
Also does anyone have any idea what longhouses you get placed in when you book lagoon view?
And I heard something about odd and even numbered rooms in the tower in the CR, and beds facing the castle??

First, congrats on staying at two awesome resorts! We stayed at the Cont last trip and loved it. I like all of the restaurants there, especially Chef Mickey's and CG. I've heard awesome things about Concourse Steakhouse as well and it's the only place onsite apparently to get a 'sticky mickey' for breakfast (type of donut by description). We did get the refillable mugs but we weren't staying concierge so not sure if that would be beneficial or not. My kids loved that they had a slurpee type of drink they could get in their refillables. The arcade in the Cont is HUGE and tons of fun.

We're planning our first trip to the Poly so not sure about buildings. We've eaten there several times though and we really like the Kona Cafe for breakfast and 'Ohana for dinner. I've read that Kona has an awesome dinner and dessert menu as well. 'Ohana does a character breakfast that is served at your table rather than a large buffet. Some have reported it is more of a low-key bkft than, say, Chef Mickey's.

We love the CR. We are staying the 14th floor concierge next month. Bambi it there right now, so look for her trip report when she returns. She PROMISED lots of pictures! You have your choice of a view of MK or a view of the lake. We requested the lake. The CR lounge has a view of the MK, so we can watch the fireworks there then the water parade from our room. You can also get a view of the Epcot fireworks from the bay side.

Character meals, Chef Mickeys is great for dinner or breakfast. A PS is necessary! We also like CRT.

Be sure to contact the concierge when you are around 100 days out. They can book all your PS's then. You do not need to wait for the 90 mark.

Oh, they're sooooo much more than a donut! LOL They are totally addictive!!! The large ones especially, they are mickey (head/ears) shaped, baked in their own pan and served hot from the oven. They are kind of like a cinnamon bun for taste, only the cinnamon and sugar pools in the bottom of the pan and when you pull the pieces out it's gooey and LGHALGHALGHAGLH (homer simpson noise!) can you tell that I cannot WAIT to go back to the CR to get one! Just about a month now is all i have to wait! LOL

Ohana, FABULOUS food at dinner. Never done the breakfast there. Chef Mickey is a great character dining experience for breakfast or dinner. We also LOVE the Cinderella dinner at Grand Floridian; the food was the best of any buffet at WDW.

We also like the Princess Storybook Breakfast in Epcot, five princesses! But not Cindy so if you have a Cindy lover in your party then you want to go to CRT or 1900 Park Fare for dinner (GF)

You're staying at two of the best resorts in WDW so you'll have a great time, happy planning and have a magical trip!
