I don't want to beat a dead horse, but all I was finding by searching was this discussion for brunch. We are doing dinner with my inlaws at Palo. For the guys, polo shirt with dress pants and shoes yay or nay?

All I have input for is brunch (and for Remy, not Palo), but they definitely made a gentleman in a very nice polo shirt go back and change into a collared (dress) shirt. I thought he looked fine either way, but they appear to be very strict!

They can be strict but I saw someone wearing flip flops during brunch so it’s hit or miss. Corey from the DIS wore a basic polo to Palo brunch and I’ve seen plenty others wearing the same. I would say it shouldn’t be a problem...especially if you’ve got dress shoes but they may treat dinner attire differently vs a brunch.

I would stick with a dress shirt just to be on the safe side. The staff at Palo is likely a bit more forgiving and lenient when it comes to brunch at it is more of relaxed atmosphere vs dinner which is more formal. So go with the button down unless someone has some better input when it comes to dinner.

I wouldn’t do a polo for dinner. You definately run the risk of being turned around which would be embarrassing.

How about a button shirt, dress pants, and sperrys for dinner at Palo? DH does not own dress shoes.

Anything not fitting the dress code is at the discretion of the manager of the restaurant. If they are short on reservations, they may make an exception. However, that is not guaranteed. E.g., people have been in sweatshirts for Palo on the Wonder mostly because reservations have been really down for an Alaskan cruise.

Dress Codes for Palo and Remy, Adults-Only Restaurants for Guests 18 and Older

So that we may provide an enjoyable and refined dining experience for all Guests, please be advised that tank tops, swimsuits, swimsuit cover-ups, shorts, hats, cut-offs, torn clothing, t-shirts with offensive language and/or graphics, flip-flops or tennis shoes are not permitted at Palo or Remy. We thank you for your understanding and your cooperation with the following dress requirements

At Palo: The elegant northern Italian-inspired dining venue aboard all 4 ships.

Dinner and Brunch
  • Men: dress pants or slacks and collared shirt; jacket is optional
  • Women: dress, skirt or pants with a blouse
  • Jeans may be worn if in good condition (no holes)

DH wears a sports coat and dockers with a dress shirt and tie or sometimes a sports coat with golf shirt. He has swollen feet so he wears dark colored running shoes. They look at his shoes but don’t say anything. This is for Palo dinner.

For Palo, golf type shirts (Polos) are fine. So are dock shoes (Sperrys). You can even wear nice jeans.

Remy has a more strict / formal dress code.

Polo shirts have collars so you should be no issue. I've wore casual Dockers shoes with no issue.

My husband usually wears a sport coat and polo. We have never had a problem in palo. We went to remy once and I thought he could get by without a tie but he was asked to get one.

I wore a polo shirt with slacks to Palo on Fantasy with no issues. It has a collar, so not sure what the violation would be.
