This is the first year our town's Drive-In didn't open. We've gone about once a year since DH & I were married, and we enjoy it.

I would one time just for the memory. When I was younger we would go all the time and always had a good time. It's been over 30 years si I think it would be nice, just once.

We have one in our town and go everytime there is a good movie! Its great for kids, they love to sit under the stars with all of their friends.
Eveyone who goes quite enjoys it because it is different and there are not many left!

That's a great attitude! If more people had that attitude some of the mom and pop businesses would still be around, and corporate mega-retail wouldn't be as big.

Sure, we love the drive in! There's one a few miles from us. We haven't been there this summer. Just haven't been in the mood for it. You can listen to the movie over the speakers or over the radio. They still have their original speakers at this drive in.

There is still a drive in in Bridgton Maine that is fairly near me. They have new movies and good sound quality.

Drive in movies are fun. Take a pick up truck, park in the back row, and put your chairs in the bed of the truck. Great view of the screen!

I asked my kids once when they were little if they knew what a drive-in was. They said yes. It's when you go behind McDonald's, order your food, then you can drive thru and pick up your food.

I would love to have a one in our town. There was one here when I was younger, but I recall that they showed a lot of porno flicks. I remember how everyone underage would move to the parking lot across from the drive-in and watch the movie without sound. I'm glad that's no longer here for my kids to see, but I would love it if for decent movies.

I have a drive in a couple of miles from my house. I go a few times a summer. It's really a lot of fun. I don't get the pay part of this thread. It's like an indoor theatre so why wouldn't you pay??

There's an old drive-in south of Fort Worth that we drive to occasionally. It's a long drive but it's fun and different if the weather is nice.

Less than 10 minutes from our home, due to our climate it is only open from mid-May thru the end of September.

Its packed every weekend!
