Why bother putting villas on the club level floor if they won't even have access? Should have just left the club floor the way it was as just all regular hotel rooms then.

Perhaps it leaves the door open for CL "conversion" down the road if there is enough interest? How does CL at other DVC properties work? Is it just the additional access to CL lounge? Or are there physical differences in the CL villas?

Snacks and booze. Some people liked that amenity when booking cash and miss it in DVC. It makes sense that it is not a typical DVC amenity, as DVC is not really marketed as a luxury product, and Club Level has typically been sold/priced that way. What's in the CL lounge that makes the CL rooms so desirable even at a higher point cost?

If that's all it takes to charge a few additional points per night, I think it's a lost opportunity for DVD not to designate at least those rooms on the Club level at CCV as CL. What's the downside for trying? I can't imagine assigning a few rooms as CL would turn away potential buyers, but it might actually attract a few who may otherwise not be interested at all!
LAX
DVC may charge more points per night for CL but I don't see how the resort gets paid to cover the cost of the additional services. I would hate to think that dues for everyone who owns there is paying for the CL DVC guests. IMO the best option would be to add a cash fee to DVC guests who want CL amenities. Making CL a booking category with a limited number of openings would allow control and also notify the resort staff of the expected number of DVC CL guests.

Wait, can't those few extra points charged for CL be "converted" to revenues to reimburse the hotel side of the resort for the concierge services? I am not advocating for CL to be added to CCV as that's not something I would be interested in paying extra for. However, if the system is already in place for the hotel side, I don't see how providing it as an option can be bad seeing how in demand those rooms seem to be at AKL.
LAX
Yes, the extra points required translate to more dues collected to stay in one of these rooms vs other rooms. A very quick guesstimate for travel during May would be approx and extra $30-$35/day extra is collected for a concierge studio. For a 1BR it's closer to $50/day - maybe a little more. And at AKV the number of guests using concierge is heavily skewed towards the hotel side. DVC is a max total of 10 rooms.
This is a guess, but if the rooms were declared as CL it actually creates restriction for DVC long term if the resort side, who control the lounge, decided to materially change the offering at CL.
Very nice that they served dinner. Thanks for sharing this. We also bought AKV for the same reason.Well I am one that voted yes. We bought AKL for this reason and I love those rooms. In addition to what GADisneyDAD said, you also get daily housekeeping, upgraded toiletries and bath robes at AKL so it is a lot more than just booze and snacks. For instance this past Thanksgiving they served actual Thanksgiving dinner in the lounge. They have a chef that was cooking and plating it fresh for everyone and it was wonderful. It's great to also have CMs available to assist you with whatever you need and they're right outside your door. No trek to the lobby and wait in a long line.
Based on numbers provided by other members of these forums, a good guess is that there are somewhere between 200K and 300K DVC owners. As to the question presented in this thread, the poll has been fluctuating between 25 and 30% of folks who would have bought for club access. Even though these forums represent a small percentage of DVC owners, if we extrapolate the numbers and used the lower guess of 200K owners, if 25% of owners would have bought for club level benefits, that results in possibly 50,000 contracts that could have been sold. That sounds like a very large number in potential sales! Is Disney ignoring a huge market here?
