My fully vaxed and boosted aunt is in the hospital right now with it. That said, just because omicron is what’s in the news right now, doesn’t mean the other variants aren’t also still making their rounds. So yeah, going on a cruise is riskier than going to a Knicks game.

To answer the question, I’m on the fence, I think we will still go it’s just giving me a ton of anxiety. Our cruise is in Feb. We are all vaccinated and boosted, and we have had COVID twice (in Feb and earlier this month).
Funny you say Knicks. I really hope to go to a Brooklyn Nets game end of January or beginning of February if things are better

We're cruising at the end of February. At this point, it's a wait and see but if things continue to get worse, we may have to take a loss and cancel. We purchased Disney insurance but I think we only will get 75% future cruise voucher. Ugh.

Which doesn't tend to happen to vaccinated people who get Omicron. This is the mildest form of the virus yet.
I am vaxxed and boosted and can tell you that the word “mild” is being misused and misunderstood.

“Mild” is only as compared to the alternative with covid: hospitalization, permanent disability, death. This is still a serious illness. I’ve had that confirmed by both our pediatrician and my doctor.

People are trying to make vacation plans and determine precautions. The one thing I wish I’d paid more attention to is the attitudes I saw in various Disney planning forums: the cavalier attitude of other guests. I chose WDW because of their mask rules and employee vaccine rules. I disregarded my gut telling me that Disney visitors might be a bit less cautious as a group than I’d hoped.

I have a reservation for the Wish next September. It is only a short 3 night cruise and I don't care if we do not stop anywhere. I just want to check out he ship. Unless something absolutely crazy happens, I am going.

We are hoping enough people cancel for the March 11th Dream sailing so they open up a Florida or military discount so we can start our vacation with a cruise. Chances are Omicron will be pretty much over with before that point, plus chances are we have had it or will have it well before the since it spreads so fast. We are also all vaccinated (kids 6 & 10), plus my wife and I just had the booster shots. Bring on cruise #5 😁

Most vaccinated people who get it either are asymptomatic or get cold symptoms. Yes, that is mild.

Most, not all will.
As someone with a autoimmune disease, I had the flu in 2014 and that triggered my 5 year lupus flare, was diagnosed October 2018. I want to say don’t think it can’t or won’t happen and will be mild it may not

Maybe I will end up with a 3rd non planned cruise hahaha

If people start cancelling and discounts happen around spring break I could see signing up for another cruise.

We are on Jan 22 magic. Only reason I haven't cancelled yet is because omicron is moving SO quickly, and we get a lot of exposure from preschool and DH's job, that I'm not ruling out us getting it any day now and thus being able to get 90d letters and cruise without fear of catching it again so soon.

In other words, I'm not going unless I get covid next week. Not fun all around.

Same cruise and I feel the same way. Husband tested positive today but not me.

We are both vaccinated with boosters and to be frank I don't care if we sail around in a big circle without hitting a port.

You're speaking my language here! As long as I'm not at work and can relax in the sun while other people bring me food and drinks, it's all good! I always tell dh, they could save a lot on fuel and just stay at the dock.

I don’t sail until May. We’ll still be wrestling with this, of course, but my hope is that Omicron will have “run its course,” so to speak, and that a new variant with heightened transmissibility/severity hasn’t raised its ugly head.

I also hope production of those pills from Pfizer and Merck will be in full swing, curbing the number of people who are getting really sick, and reducing the level of alarm that hospitals will be overwhelmed with patients.

I plan on meeting my normal PIF in early Feb. so I can try for a cabana, and by the end of March (the 60-day mark), I should have a better “read” on if we should still go.

That ‘s how it happened to us beginning of December and we flew in last minute from overseas. The CDC says most of Europe on the red, do not go there list.Doesn’t keep us and millions of others from not visiting friends and family. Specially when I do my own personal risk analysis it really doesn’t matter where you are it’s more what you’re doing and how you’re doing it. It’s everywhere

Who is canceling their cruise due to new CDC advisory on cruise travel? We have a February Fantasy cruise schedule and are still going. CDC advisory link below.

We’ll postpone but not just because of that. We have to travel to the US. We are currently under lockdown (this variant spreads so fast, it is actually scary) Predictions say Omicron will be peaking in the US at the exact time of our cruise, making our chances to test positive and then getting stuck out of Canada for many days bigger and bigger. I love cruising and I deeply miss it but we won’t risk losing jobs over it.

Do you mind me asking which cruise and where you're reading predictions? I've heard a few different things. We cruise Jan 22

I was scheduled on the 2/19 MDAS Magic and would have kept that except as a teacher in a school system where the mayor and chancellor are determined to keep us in person I'm terrified of getting to the port and testing positive and being stuck. Nothing to do with the CDC (which IMHO seems to have it in for the industry since they aren't issuing any advisories about flying or amusement parks or such when those are clearly just as likely if not more to be super spreaders).

So I changed my Feb Break trip back to DL and moved the cruise to a 3-night Wish right before my WDW August trip.

Feb 2023 Wish may well become Feb 2023 Dream, but we'll see.
I am scheduled on that same cruise and would like to move it or apply the $ to our August cruise. Did Disney work with you or were there cancellation penalties?
Note: I just read the updated DCL website with the new flexible cancellation policy. Reschedule cruises with sail date before May 31, 2022 to before May 31, 2023. If you are within 60 cancellation policy for your type of room, then you can get a refund.

Looks like thrice denied for our Italy/Greece cruise is coming right up. Sad, sad, sad. I wouldn't cruise right now. Not due to the CDC, but for all the other things everyone has mentioned. Unfortunatley there is nowhere in the world any of us can go right now to escape the stress of all this. Well, maybe deep into the woods-lol. I could really use a vacation/break. :(
