Just a fun Friday poll!
We've only been on the Dream - which was wonderful in every way! - and will be sailing on the Fantasy in May.
Just wondering what everyone's favorite ship & itinerary is and reasons why!

7-night Eastern on the Fantasy! Three sea days (which means three opportunities for Palo brunch!), the Aquaduck, and a trip long enough to truly cut loose and relax. (Edit to add: I forgot to mention Satellite Falls!!)

After I cruise the Panama Canal in a couple years, my answer may change

I've just done the Dream to the Bahamas so far... I have no choice:

12 DCL cruises and picking a favorite ship is easy.... The Magic

A favorite itinerary has to be Hawaii, with Alaska a close 2nd.
We have seen so many wonderful ports sailing DCL, each one has something special to see.

The only ship we haven't sailed yet is The Dream......someday.

For me, it would have been the b2b we need on the Magic in the Med (our first trip to Europe) -- 10-day Med cruise and 14 day Transatlantic. So it holds a special place. It was glorious. But since then we did 20 days in Alaska with the cruise (7 days) and the land (12 days) which was a lifetime experience. And then just edging those out would be the 12-night British Isles tour we took last year on Princess. We waited years to do that one, following our family heritage. But it's a hard one, isn't it -- as each cruise has a special memory or event, each with their own distinctive lands. Boy, I think I could live on a cruise ship!

I love the Fantasy. Been on her 3 times. Did the Magic once years ago. I just love the way the Fantasy is designed. That art deco styling is so gorgeous.

Favorite port has been Grand Cayman, by far. Stingray City was EPIC. Any itinerary with Grand Cayman is my favorite.

Hmmm. This is hard. I've done the following:


4-Night Bahamas, both 7-night caribbeans, 5-night NYC-Canada, 7 night Alaska, and 14 night Panama Canal. Each of them have a special reason.


#1- 4 Night Bahamas- I was 11 at the time so young enough to do the Lab. It even left on New Years Eve too which was a bonus.

#2- 7 Night Eastern Caribbean- I was 14 and went on the Magic. I loved the sea days and what made it even more special was that my sister had finished 2 1/2 years of leukemia a couple months prior.

#3- 7 Night Alaska- This was part of my sweet 16 (I had turned 16 that May) and I loved the teen club. This would be my first of three cruises that Clayton was the director.

#4- 5 Night NYC-Canada- Shout out to BraveCruiser and family!! I loved being with the girls and Newsies became my favorite musical of all time. I was 17 at the time.

#5- 7 Night Western Caribbean- Magical for many things. First of all, I was 19 so this was the first cruise I was old enough to go to Palo and stuff. Second of all, I had just graduated high school so I got surprised with a plate from Palo and a dessert from our serving staff along with an I'm Celebrating button. It was so awesome and I did cheer during Wishes due to the fact that the kids would be graduating HS too. When the class of 2014 thing came up, I cheered really loud which made everyone around us look at me funny This was also my 2nd cruise that Clayton was the cruise director.

#6- 14 Night Panama Canal- Magical for lots of things. First of all, I was surprised with the cruise (I had no idea we were going until good friday 2015) so I was shocked when my parents told me. Second of all, this would be my final cruise as a teen because the weekend after I returned, I turned 20. It was the perfect way to kick off my 20s. Third, since there were not many kids on the ship, they had adults only time in the Oceaneers. I LOVED this although I was the youngest at some of the activities. Fourth, as I mentioned above, my birthday was the weekend after I returned and our room stewardess (shout out to Maracris from the Philippines!! You Rock!) noticed the plate from Palo and surprised us with a cake towel and two birthday buttons (I forgot to mention my sister and I are twins). Last but not least, this was the 3rd cruise with Clayton as the director. I was so excited and I couldn't believe he remembered me. Also, the cruise ended in San Diego which was perfect because we could drive home.


Ship Wise- I think it's a tie between Fantasy and Wonder because I loved the aqua duck and pools. I've been on the Wonder three times and that I know the best

I cant say I have a favorite ship. I love them all, and the one I am on is my favorite at the time.
As for itinerary, while I haven't disliked any that I have done, my favorite would have to be the 8 night Bahamian Cruise out of NY that we did in 2012. 8 nights is the longest we have done and I think its just enough time. Sailing out of NY and not having to fly was wonderful, plus getting a day in WDW just made the cruise perfect!

Either the 12-night Med Cruise on Disney Magic of the 7-night Alaska Cruise on Disney Wonder. But definitely prefer the intimacy of the classic ships and the longer itineraries. The 12-night Med Cruise allowed us to visit a lot of Europe in a very efficient way, while the 7-night Alaska Cruise was absolutely beautiful and would gladly be the first itinerary we would repeat.

My favorite intinerary was the 2013 WB Panama Canal. The ports of call were the same as the current ports with the addition of Castaway Cay the first full day. Who wouldn't love starting a 14 days cruise with a perfect day at Castaway Cay? We loved traveling westbound and gaining an hour a day. The ports were nicely spaced out with the sea days in between. The history of the Canal as relayed by the resident expert, Capt. Puckett, was fascinating - it made sailing the Canal so much more than seeing through modern day eyes. Seeing the difference in the waves, the color and the current from the Caribbean to the Pacific was incredible. I would sail another Panama Canal cruise in a heartbeat. Our second favorite was Alaska.

If you had asked what our favorite ship was a year ago, we would have said the Wonder. However, our last two cruises on the Magic bumped her up to first. We love the classic ships for the size, the itineraries and the crew. The dream class ships are gorgeous (and we love the Aquaduck) so you can't go wrong either way.

It's hard for me to rank the ships except for the Dream - she's dead last in my book - But I have not been onboard since January of 2013 0 prior to dry dock
Fantasy has all of the bells and whistles AND Satellite Falls
Magic (my first ship), has the nice upgrades to Shutters and Animators and the AquaDunk and Twist and Spout. BUT she has that abomination that is the atrium (ugh!!!)
Wonder - Upgraded Shutters and still has the original atrium (two staircases and the Chihuly chandelier and the best overall service we've received in the fleet. This is even with the best server that we have had on the Fantasy

Itineraries - We like going to NEW Places!!! and the Longer the Better so...
Panama Canal - probably going from the East to West - keep adding hours vs taking them away (Been Both Ways)
Med Cruise - Was Awesome, our first trip to Europe as a family, but August - too hot and way to humid, but the trip was still awesome
Northern Europe / Baltic - Every Stop was new to us - really cool. So sad that our daughter that loves European History was not able to go with us
Alaska - only 7 nights, but it WAS Spectacular
San Juan / Southern Caribbean - lots of fun in the sun / watersports / zip lines and history on the islands
Transatlantic - I've never been but many people love them

Fantasy - Western Caribbean (but Eastern is great too)

the Entertainment: The Shows, the Specialty Mainstage/Night Club performers, live onboard music (I LOVE Clara Oman - piano)
the Cruise Director (most of the time we actually get to visit with him or her)
Guest Services for those times when issues arise
and even the Scrape, Paint, Varnish and Power Wash Guys - when they are whistling Disney Songs when you pass them, it just makes me SMILE!!

We've sailed all 4 and hands down love the Magic most.
Probably because she was our first (and 2nd, and 3rd).
Our favorite itinerary is harder to answer. I'd say it's a tie between Alaska and the Med. They're such different cruises that it's hard to compare.
We'd loooove a Panama Canal cruise but with teens in school it just doesn't work for us right now. Someday...
I hope they offer another Norwegian Fjord cruise in 2017. I'd love to surprise the kids with that.

Favorite Ship - Wonder ! ! !

Itinerary - Venice to Barcelona Greek Isles followed closely by the 12 Night Mediterranean which they no longer do.

Reason Ship - Classics and best feel. Love Parrot Cay and the Animator Palette without the crush screens. Crew are proud of their ship and very interactive. Easy to get around and don't have to walk through Cabañas when using the aft stairs.

Absolutely agree! My very favorite Itinerary has been the DCL Hawaii cruises! I have been blessed to do both a 14 nt. R/T from L.A. in 2012 and a 10 nt. Honolulu to Vancouver last September. LOVE, LOVED both of these Itin's. And the Alaska cruise was simply stunning.

Like MPS516 I also love the Classics. For many years I had a preference toward the Magic but over the last several years my preference has leaned toward the Wonder.

My favorite is Alaska on the Wonder. I do prefer the classic chips. Would love to do either a Mediterranean or northern Europe sailing on the Magic, but the dates have never quite worked out

Since I have been on the Wonder more than any other ship, on any cruise line, it must be my favorite!

Our best itinerary on the Wonder was WBPC in 2014. it was the 100th year of the Panama Canal. The lectures by Captain Puckett were the best of any lectures I've had on any ship, any line. Our servers, Desmond and Sheldon were beyond excellent, and we were with my sister and her hubby.

Fantasy 7 Day Eastern is our favorite (so far!) - love the 3 sea days and St. Thomas is one of my favorite places in the world now. So beautiful. We will soon be on a Western with 3 sea days, so we'll see how that measures up. If only we could have Rodrigo on our concierge staff, it would be about perfect.
