Poll Coming.

I could only list 12, and I know there are more, so please list any others below. :flower:

Dang, I messed it up. I should have checked all of them. I also get to take my birthday off with pay. I work at a shelter and we don't get many perks, but the company is generous with holidays, vacation time, and sick time. If I have to work a holiday, I get to take the time off with pay at a later date.

We have off (or you can work for double time and a half) starting in Jan...New Years Day, Martin Luther day, Lincolns birthday, washingtons birthday, good friday, memorial day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Election Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
On Holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas the junior guys usually get stuck working every year since it goes by seniority who gets off on the holidays.

I checked off:

Memorial Day
Labor Day
4th of July
Thanksgiving
Christmas
New Year Day

In addition to Memorial Day, 4th of July and Labor Day we also get:

Thanksgiving and the day after
Christmas Eve and Christmas day
New Years Eve and New Years day

Since Christmas and New Years fell on the weekend last year we got the Friday before and the Monday after off.

I get the same days plus my birthday, anniversary of my hire date and 2 floating PD's.

I checked them all and we get Patriots Day off in April

We get 8 paid holidays. New Years, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Day. The 8th day floats according to the calendar, either at 4th of July or Christmas, this year we get the 3rd of July also.

We don't get MLK, Presidents, Columbus, or Veterans, but we do get the day after Thanksgiving and two floating holidays (which I usually use for my kids' birthdays.) It's MLK as I type this, and I'll be leaving for work shortly.

All of them. I'm a teacher so I get them all plus the Jewish holidays! I love my job! :cool1:

I get the biggies, New Years day, memorial day, 4th of July, Thanksgiving day and Christmas day. I get a total of 10 so I get 5 "floater" days to use as I wish.

I get MLK, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and the day after, and usually a week to two weeks for Christmas/New Years--it depends on when the holidays fall, this year we got a week and a day, last year we got almost two weeks. :teeth:

There's a possibility that we may start getting Spring Break off, too, but that's still in the works.

Also, last year, they offered full-time staff the opportunity to switch to part-time (32 hours) during the summer and still keep full benefits. I did this last year and it was so wonderful. I hope I get the chance again this year. I work at a college and this was a way to cut costs last year.

A big whopping NONE! But then again if I am scheduled it's not that bad becuase if I do have the day off I can never get anything done -- the buses don't run and then everyone and their brother is off, so I can't go to the bank, post office, some stores, etc.

We don't get MLK, Presidents or Veterans Day, but we do get off all the others, plus the day before the 4th of July and Christmas Eve and New Years Eve off. :)

I stopped working last month, but at the company I worked for for 18 years and DH still works for the holidays were

New Years Day, Presidents Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Columbus Day (floater), Election Day (floater), Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas and a choice of either MLK, Lincoln's birthday or day after Thanksgiving

Mother's Day and Father's Day weren't holidays per se, but if you were scheduled to work it was triple time.

New Years Day
Easter (though it's on a Sunday)
Memorial Day
4th of July
Labor Day
Veterans Day
Thanksgiving
Christmas Eve
Christmas Day
New Years Eve

Floater, or Bday

We get all those listed except Veteran's day and Good Friday. MLK and President's day we have as floaters, you can take it today or save it for some other time. I decided to take it this year.

My kids are off school and we're going to visit the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center here in Cincinnati, to celebrate the day and learn some things at the same time. :sunny:

I don't understand this. :confused3

I am a teacher.

I don't get any paid holidays.

I only get paid for the 180 days the kids are in school and my 10 extra "work Days". (I think it's 10).
