Doesn't bother me at all. I schedule my ADR's after I schedule my days at each park so it doesn't bother me.

Upcoming trip is our 12th and first on DDP. When kids were young think it would have been stressful - can't predict who's exhausted, not hungry, etc. But with older kids and teens - this trip DD13 & DS16 - it's perfect. I know we'll all spend time together at least for a meal! "Meet at Chefs de France at 7pm!" It works...

I personally don't like trying to keep to the schedule. That's why we are trying the QSDP this time and maybe picking a character meal and paying OOP. I'll let you know how it works out.:goodvibes

If you decide on the regular DDP, just try to schedule around how your family normally eats. We are early risers and late eaters so a 10:30 breakfast or 9:30 dinner was never a problem for us. It did make the scheduling a bit easier to work with.

Remember dont stress to much and have fun!:wizard:

We have always eaten at least 1 table service per day so I like to have it scheduled. We have used DDP a few times in the past, but this is the first year with the DXDDP and the scheduling is a tad more challenging.

I hope we like the extra dining time!

I liked BDP on our March trip. The only time I felt stressed is if we had to leave one park to go to another for an ADR. That happened once when we were in AK and had a LeCellier ADR and we had to take a cab to get to WS. What a PAIN!! For our upcoming trip in November/Dec. I will plan better and make sure we don't have to travel to reach an ADR. We aren't getting the park hopper so I'll have to be sure of where we will be on any given day.

Don`t know yet, :confused3

Last year we went on our first trip to Disney, and we didn`t plan anything (i know i know what were we thinking) in fact I didn`t even know places like the Dis existed and I had no clue what an ADR was.
Our days had no structure at all, in fact we picked what park we were going to at the bus stop most mornings.
This year we are getting the free DPP and are making ADRs and having a ball just reading the dis for ideas.
Don`t know how we`ll feel once we get there and we have a strict schedule but I`m looking forward to giving it a try.

Every family will have a different way of doing this & the key is to find the way that best suits YOUR family!!

We really enjoy the DDP for different reasons but one of the things we like is that when we spend a day in the park, it is typically from early in the morning until we eat dinner. At that point, we are hot, tired & NEEDING the break!! Usually we schedule later meals (my kids are a little older), maybe 7:30ish, take our time & by the time we are done, we might see the fireworks & call it a night. Our meal typically signals the end of that day for us.

I don't know we'ld like it as much with earlier meals....full stomachs on rides just don't do it for us!!

But, we really like the DDP & can't imagine NOT doing it!

I THRIVE on our schedule and always have my spreadsheet on hand for our WDW trips! :thumbsup2

I usually love planning and sceduling, but I did not like having to stick to the adr schedule. Part of it was that it was our first trip and I didn't know what to expect. When I made out plans I expected after a long day in the parks we would want to leave and head somewhere else for a break, but it felt like a lot of wasted time once we got there. I ended up changing a couple of reservations while we were there. I think next time we'll just do qs, and pay oop for a character meal or two.
