[I've placed this excerpt in the first message so that folks don't have to read through all of the messages to get to the answer:

07-Aug-2006: The unofficial answer is: Animal Kingdom Lodge

12-Oct-2006: The official answer is: Animal Kingdom Lodge

The building permit was right on the mark! Congratulations to the 18.78% who guessed correctly.

PamOKW was very close in terms of the source.

In essence, I found a building permit that was just issued a few weeks ago. In the permit, Disney Vacation Development, Inc. is requesting a construction company to remodel three existing areas on the 5th Floor of the Animal Kingdom Lodge to be used as "model rooms".

My logic: DVD, Inc. --> Model Rooms --> Next DVC Project

We got a bonus prize with this poll adventure. Tink10 went searching on the internet to try and find details of the next DVC project and found some detailed architectural pictures of a proposed Contemporary DVC. Kudos to Tink10 for finding those pictures.

Here is a link to Tink10's thread: Contemporary DVC [/COLOR] ]

I recently found some public information that details a contractual agreement between DVC and a construction company. The information is fairly explicit and it details work to start this year. It spells out the exact site of the construction and the purpose.

Hence, I expect DVC will be announcing the location of the next project shortly if they are moving ahead with some preliminary construction.

I thought it might be some fun to have folks participate in a poll on where they think the next DVC Project will be located.

I'll announce my information in a few days and then we can wait for the official announcement from DVC.

Does this mean if we have current ownership in the proximity of the "other" DVC, we have the 11 month window? It's wishful thinking and one can only hope!!

Hi Greenban - the problem with Internet searches is it pulls up all the old stuff, too. DVC is well beyond "the third" onsite resort and we all know that VWL has been sold out for years.

But, keep searching -- maybe you will turn up info on the new resort.

Years ago we saw a permit application in the Orlando Sentinel for Disney to build another hotel near the CBR -- of course that turned out to be Pop Century.

I still think it will be at the Contemporary. I have been told by several CM friends that this was announced to them. They are actually surprised DVC has not announced it to the members yet.

This poll really sparked my curiosity to find out what info Troy had.....So far, I've come up with the following news blurb from ecmweb.com:

January 6, 2006

Business Briefs for the week of January 2, 2006

Kohler Co.’s Power Group recently acquired French manufacturer of generator sets SDMO Industries, French generator set maintenance company Béalas Energie Services, and distribution and control-panel electrical equipment producer SOREEL. Together, the three acquired companies employ more than 1,100 associates in France and at subsidiaries around the world.

On Jan. 3 Los Angeles-based Solar Integrated Technologies, Inc., provider of commercial building integrated photovoltaic roofs, signed with GE Energy Financial Services for a revolving line of credit for up to $20 million. The credit facility is for a term of up to five years and will be used for working capital and other general corporate purposes.

Nashville, Tenn.-based engineering design and facility consulting firm Smith Seckman Reid was recently awarded contracts on more than 140 projects. The awards include electrical and fire protection design services at the Disney Vacation Club Contemporary Resort in Orlando, Fla., the University of Tennessee’s Walter Life Science Systems Improvement in Knoxville, and the Tampa General Hospital expansion in Tampa, Fla.

Tink10, nice job on the search! The architectural pictures are impressive.

But, as I stated in my edit of the original posting, the next DVC project is not the Contemporary. The information I've found is very specific and has details that indicate that it will be the next project (I don't want to give away too much info because you guys are too good at picking up on small bits of information.

Pam:

You mean this 'Boardwalk Villas' is *NOT* the next resort?

I was so sure!

[Due to the overwhelming voting response and architectural pictures of the DVC Contemporary Resort (nice job Tink10), I've added a late hint that it is NOT the Contemporary. The DVC Contemporary may be built at some future time, but the information I've found has specific dates that are this year for another location. The information I've found also contains details that would specificly indicate that it will be the next DVC project.]

Looks like you got your answer in the poll - why not post your information now so that we can compare it to what Tink found for the Contemporary?

Just subbing to this thread so I can see how it turns out. I know I hope they build one in DLR since we will be splitting our time between there and WDW :sunny:

I've got a funner idea:

I'm thinking of a number between 1 and 100...

Ok, sensing a bit of restlessness in the natives... It's time to reveal.
