What's your acronym choice for the new Disney Lakeshore Lodge (formerly Reflections)? There are some tricky problems with this resort name (LL evokes Lightning Lane, DLL evokes Disneyland).

Do you have a different (better) idea than the options offered?

ETA: Already noticed my mistake in the poll question - LakeSHORE not Lakeside. lol

I’m going DLL or LSL.

VLL seems better on the surface- but this isn’t referring to a specific part of the property like the Villas designation does to differentiate from the Hotel, so that’s just weird.

DLL won’t be mixed up with Disneyland as that acronym is DL or DLR (Disneyland Resort). Also, context.

LSL also make sense to me.

In most cases the abbreviations used here have three letters, which include a V for Villas (e.g., VGF and BWV) unless that would add a fourth letter (e.g., BLT, SSR, OKW). Currently the expected name appears to be the Villas at Lakeshore Lodge, which would put the V first and make it VLL, and it should not be LSL, which is an acronym generally used for a number of different things having nothing to do with DVC.

I like VLL because in the WDW acronym landscape, leading with the V helps to point out villa and talking about a resort.

I feel like I’ve been lied to lol. Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge isn’t the name? Well it’s hard to pick an acronym when Disney itself isn’t using the proper name! …unless they aren’t going the full DVC route like at RIV? If it’s part hotel then the Villa designation will be necessary to differentiate from the hotel…

And that means 2 acronyms. One for the DVC portion and one for the hotel. Hmm, that puts my vote to VLL/DLL.

What does LSL stand for btw?

LSL is used as an acronym for a number of things such as Listening and Spoken Language (courses for the deaf and hard of hearing). And, unfortunately, it is also used as an acronym for an inappropriate phrase, "light skin liar." You can Google LSL to see others.

What I have not seen confirmed yet is whether Lakeshore Lodge will be what Reflections was intended to be, part hotel and part DVC. If it is both then the hotel side would likely be called Disney's Lakeshore Lodge, e.g., Boardwalk has two names the Boardwalk Villas (BWV for the DVC side), and the Boardwalk Inn (BWI for the hotel side).

RCL - River Country Lodge

This is what it should have been named in the first place...
I agree with using River Country. Marketing miss.

Only problem is, I believe RCL is Royal Caribbean stock symbol.

I voted already. But if the lodge is bundled with the cabins, I bet the DVC name for the entire operation will be something other Lakeside Lodge. It will be something more general to include the Wilderness cabins. Maybe something like Lakeside Lodge and Cabins. But then again, who knows what Disney will pick.
