Absurd yes, like many other posters have said, but let me more specific as to why.
The school wants to be sensitive to different cultures. According to Qur'an 5:3, Muslims may not eat pork. The school authorities therefore apparently reason that they should not perform a play about three little pigs, because that would offend Muslims. (BTW, Judaism has the same prohibition in Leviticus 11:7. Why single out Muslims?)
However, the entire point of the story is that the Big Bad Wolf is bad because he wants to eat the Three Little Pigs. I may be going out on a limb here, but you could easily argue that the entire story line can be seen to support the Muslim injunction against eating pork.
Good grief. Children have always been brought up on animal stories.
